Star Wars: The Old Republic - Rise of the Rakghouls Trailer

How do you feel about Star Wars: The Old Republic now that you've
been playing it for a while? Is there enough mid and high level content?

It's a game I'd rather watch being played than play myself because there's nothing engaging about it.

I will maybe pick this game up if Steam has a sale on it like they did for Rift. For 10 dollars, I will give it a try

Even their trailers are full of cliches and terrible design. It's hilarious at 1:04 when the female screams and it cuts to a character having a seizure.

It's EA, so like, Origin I guess, if anything.

I do not typically like MMOs, but I LOVE this game. I'm playing it essentially like a single player RPG, and it is a darned good one. I think of it as Mass Effect in Star Wars land. My major complaint is that I want to play each of the classes because they all have interesting storylines, so I need to raise eight characters to level 50. I figure that's going to take me a looong time, particularly when I'm trying to play other games during the year as well (Mass Effect 3, the new Jagged Alliance, etcetera). Frankly, I really hope the end game isn't that interesting otherwise I may never manage it.

Love the game, but luckily there was a lull in it so I had the chance to finish Arkham City. Going to have to go back to levelling my Sith Inquisitor after this though.

So like KotOR then? Mass effects predecessor?

Seriously, I'm loving this game too! The voice acting for all the missions makes it for me, makes it feel like my character is really playing a part in the galaxy. The only shame is that the character's stories don't really cross over. Would have been nice to have heard about some of the other characters exploits having some (even if minor) impact on what happening in my story.

Now that it's plainly transparent the majority of The Old Republic's success and grossly high budget rests upon the shoulders of its voice acting, who as a veteran MMO gamer can honestly say with a straight face that they expect additional content for ToR to also be voiced? This trailer is a precursor of things to come, because Zombies can't talk, Aliens only need subtitles, and Driods go beep.

According to sources they've got the main voice actors on contracts to do more work, and they're currently recording lines for content not due until next year.

When has the "truth" ever gotten in the way? Apparently speculation is truth.

Seriously some of the bugs in these games make me wonder if they aren't bugs but were added on purpose... like the old magic arrow "bug" in UO.
