Someone please explain to me what's so great about Warhammer? I still think it some sort of strange cult trying to spill over to the masses.

Chainswords & plasma guns. Genetically altered warrior castes. Chapter Recruitment planets. Xenos. Walking tanks. Warp Spawn. Astropaths & servitor skulls.
I dunno... 40k is just fun and I like the sci-fi that surrounds it.

Very fun universe. I dig how the Space Marines are basically Religious Zealots/Paladins kind of.
Just seeing typical fantasy races in the future is fun. Orcs as English Soccer Hooligans with machine guns is awesome.

Kind of disappointed with only 2, very generic multiplayer modes.

Speaking of Warhammer. Did anyone play the XBLA Warhammer game? I tried the demo. It was somewhat fun.

Warhammer is an awesome universe. This game doesn't seem to convey the gritty darkness of it. The game itself just looks bad.

Looked like a WH version of gauntlet, which is a good thing if you've got brew and 3 buds over.

Yeah that's exactly what it reminded me of. If it goes on sale sometime I'll pick it up. I already have too many games to catch up on.

God no kidding. Make it x-com style (the microprose version).

I got it and it is fun. Only complaints is you can only do 2 player LOCAL. No Live integration at all...

Tbo if they had a few more multy play modes like, last stand and assalt and it could support 64 players this would be a dayone. but as much as i love the 40k lore and i doo,
i am just not that exsited abought scale of things, the hole point of 40k is thta evry thing is huge there are no 8v8 battel there are no 32v32 it all abought the 100 v100 to the 40k v40k

Holy crap, Coldeath... either you were really drunk or are the worst speller on EvAv! I count 11 mistakes, and doesn't even count made up words like "dayone". I am aghast.

I've never really looked into WH40K all that much, but I bought that recent XBLA game and really enjoyed it, which has served to greatly pique my interest in this game.
As long as the reviews are solid, I'll probably grab this, mainly for the single player, as based on what I saw in the Arcade game, I like the idea of getting a closer look at the universe, in terms of the enemies and weapons and all that.

The campaign captures the essence of what I'd expect. Looks
fun .
MP needs a bit more pizaaz. But that's just by the looks so far. Interested in seeing how this does. Honestly hope it does well. Dunno though...

I guess the other thing about MP on this game is that the aiming reticles look like shit and it seems to lack a tightness to the controls seems lacking. The latter part is hard to really grasp until you actually play a game, but I'm telling ya, both components I mentioned have to be there. The HUD looks like shit and waaaaay too cluttered. That aside, sometimes simplicity IS a good thing. Two game modes can be good, but I would hope for at least four really. Still, you can put more stuff out via DLC.
