Because I got so little gameplay out of the first Starcraft 2 release I think I'll skip the next two. The single player was decent, but the multiplayer immediately turned into something I didn't want to be a part of(As in it wasn't fun, just build orders off of forums in a paper-rock-scissors).

This. After finishing the single player campaign and some multiplayer I went back to Warcraft 3. I'll probably pick up the next two parts in 5 years when they hit the bargain bin.
Be careful guys, if there's too much condensed 'wrong' in one thread the whole site could collapse on itself and destroy the internet.
@Orphiuchus: There's a small element of that, but its not like someone can become good just looking at a forum post, it's a lot deeper than that.
You say that, but what I found when playing briefly after launch was that once you learned decent micro and the basics it went right back to pre-determined build orders. I'm sure two good players who know build orders have lots of fun competing, but I just don't find it fun. I think once I lost a game where someone had built like 20 barracks I knew it wasn't the game for me.
So I thought Kerrigan was de-zerged? Now she's re-zerged? This is getting kind of stupid, can we come up with something new please?
Or at least copy something new and rework it so that it looks like original IP. You know, whatever it is you people do. Shit... you guys used to be the standard.
I have zero interest until this game is in a reasonably priced battle chest with its other components.
Agreed. Or I'd be happy with the original SC2 at a reduced price, $60 is a bit steep, when it hits like the $30 price point I'd pick it up, or as said a good priced Battlechest.
I do miss SC, some of my fondest memories in gaming online were in SC1.
Still haven't beaten the first one. Enjoyed it. This preview looked good. All for the story on my end though.
I read a pretty in-depth preview at TeamLiquid , they included a transcript of a QnA with Browder and he mentioned that they were focusing a bit more on the singleplayer aspect:
Quote:
"However, we lead with multiplayer many different times in WoL, and we also know that there are fans coming to us for the single player experience.
For HotS, we would like to emphasize the single player experience, to try to get the fact out there that it's not just for the hardcore gamers. For WoL, we emphasized the multiplayer so much that we almost feel like it got labeled as a game only for the hardcore players"
