Ha! Cracks me up how their site is all Prey'd out to cover the fact that they have not shipped a game since the end of the DOS days.
Yea, I like George Broussard just fine, but I still think it is tacky to put the 3D Realms logo on the game box for Prey and to host all the developer Diaries for Prey on the 3DR website when it isn't 3DR that is developing the game.
It should be Human Head that is the center of attention for this title.

Max Payne 3. Alan Wake. Yet To Be Announced Game That Has 3D Realms Name Attached But Isn't DNF.
Max Payne 3 and Alan Wake aren't related to 3DR at all. 3DR and Remedy sold Max Payne to Take Two and Alan Wake is all Remedy.
What's the problem with 3DR having their logo on the box, hosting the developer diaries, or having their site all "Prey'd out' with banners and stuff to promote the game? They're producing the game as the classical Hollywood producer role who have quite a bit of say and pull in the development of any project, if you didn't know. It's their IP and they funded it a large chunk of it so they're just doing their part to promote the game to make it sucessful so it will pay off for all parties.
Now I'm no 3DR apologist (DNF LOL) but I like to give credit where it's due. HH develops and 3DR makes sure it's a quality product by play testing and giving feedback. Kind of like the same relationship with id software and the developers they use to develop games.

"Yea, I like George Broussard just fine...."
Ouch that is kinda harsh?
Come on, 3DRealms is a Publsiher too, not only that it was 3DRealms conceptual idea, purchase of the Doom3 engine and hiring of Human Head.
They also polish their published games to a razor fine edge, which includes creative and techincal support, IIR they even wrote the design docs for Prey or at the very least worked with Hunam Head.
Back on Topic.
I am certianly gald to hear this, I truely hope the Doom3 engine doesn't prevent this from being a great game.
Poor netcode and poor texture quality are sacrficed for high quality mapping, leading to low quality outdoor enviroments and world textures for better looking skins.
Human Head are some damn talented guys whom deserve a hit game, good luck guys.

You're knocking them for hosting the developer diaries? I just went to the site--the diaries are written by the Human Head guys. It says Human Head is developing the game. How is 3D Realms taking credit for it? They funded it and gave the project to HH. Why wouldn't they promote it?
Honestly, the PR this game gets is because of 3D Realms. I'm not knocking Human Head, but they're not really well known. Had they made a new IP on their own, it probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the attention that they got with Prey. If anything, they would be doing an IP owned by a publisher, probably a movie license, and they wouldn't get their name on the box (and possibly not very prominently in the game).
This is no different than id promoting Quake 4 (Raven) or Return to Castle Wolfenstien (Grey Matter & Nerve), or Epic promoting Unreal 2 (Legend) or Unreal Tournament (Digital Extremes).
There's plenty of reasons to pick on 3D Realms, but it seems kind of silly in this case.
