The UFO: Extraterrestrials team released four new screenshots of their upcoming game today. They show Sneakers returning from a hunt, a Sneaker command centre and combat in mines of some sort.
Translation: No, it's not and won't be. It's hard packed shit waiting to die on the vine.
And you get this info from...where? I know the other UFO games have really sucked, but this seems to ressurect some of the elements that made the classic so...classic.
EDIT: Read the interview. This game sounds awesome! Especially if you liked X-Com. This may be the game I was waiting for. But damn, these guys are ambitious.
Quote:
StrategyCore: Who are the team members of Chaos Concept?
Dolezal (Producer): There are 5 programmers, a 2D graphic artist, three 3D graphic artists, a sketchmaker and a musician. They all are professionals in their fields.
Sounds like a perfect candidate for a Steam/XBLA release.

This weekend I'm going to see if I can get XCOM cooking on the newer version of DOSBox. I'm having withdrawls.
The Collectors Edition runs fine in Windows XP. You can find a guide to download and run it here.
@Everyone: This game is not a sequel to X-COM, and none of the original X-COM developers work on it. It is not in the same series as UFO: Aftermath and Aftershock. It is however more or less a turn-based remake of X-COM with added features.
I saw this game in action at E3, and it looks very promising. Hopefully there will be a gameplay video soon to whet your appetite

The problem with the CE is that on XP SP2 it randomly crashes. Even with the different 'bugfix' patches running around on the internet (which seem to basically do the same thing as fooling with your dxdebug settings).
