Thinking about purchasing The Saboteur? Well if you don't want to spend extra money later than you might want to grab yourself a fresh copy of the game for some day one DLC. Called "The Midnight Show" the DLC adds Parisian hiding spots, a new minigame and an option to unlock nudity. If you don't get a fresh copy of The Saboteur then the DLC will cost you $4.99 or 400 Microsoft points.
Quote:
Electronic Arts’ new game The Saboteur opens with a close-up shot of a stripper, nude from the waist up. Well, actually, that’s only if you buy the “Midnight Show” downloadable content.
Saboteur, which will be released Dec. 8 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, features mild nudity: The girls of the Belle de Nuit, a Parisian strip club that serves as your home base, will walk around without their tops if you flip the “Nudity” switch in the game’s menu.
Unless you download the $5 Midnight Show, however, that switch is inactive. But don’t worry: A free code to redeem the DLC is included with each copy of The Saboteur.
After you’re done breathing that sigh of relief, you may ask: Why lock this feature behind downloadable content if it comes free with every copy of the game? Simple: Breasts are only for people who buy the game new.
The option to unlock nudity via DLC is newsworthy in and of itself (in fact, I think you buried your lead pwn) though in all honesty the only games that I've seen do nudity with any amount of sensuality are Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and The Witcher. In all 3 cases, the nudity was very PG-13 (boobs) but was important in order to make a sensual moment work without being stupid.
It seems like something that a moment either needs to have in order to not divorce the player from the designer's intent (in my examples the intent is sensuality) or it isn't needed.
So I wonder how they implement this. My guess is that it will just be for laughs and won't build the story at all - like the nudity in God of War.

Hey god of war nudity had meaning...threesomes are the fastest way to become a god

Nudity in games is fine if there's a reason for it. But here, it seems like more of a "Hey look, boobs" kind of thing. Not much more than a blatant attempt to grab some more cash. If it really added something to the atmosphere of the game, it wouldn't be DLC.
Oh come on, lets admit it... boobs make basically everything better... well, except that demon in Dragon Age with 10 boobs. That was pretty gross... and flabby.

Not necessarily. Day 1 DLC that's packaged with the game at retail is the industry's attempt to wring money out of people who buy used games. So increasingly they are using bits that do meaningfully contribute to the game, to increase temptation for the aftermarket buyers. (E.g. Shale)

How many used copies do you expect there are the day of a game's release? That's a horrible excuse for day one DLC. In fact, you are actually taking away value from a game because you are forcing someone to pay extra for content that isn't included with the box. Now the free content like the Shale code that came with Dragon Age, sure, that works. Everything else? No.
