In celebration of the 15th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls, Bethesda brings word that The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall is now available for free download at Elderscrolls.com
Oh......... I played this game for ridiculous amounts of time, I am pretty sure I don't need to go back.... although, it would be great on my work laptop with no dedicated vid card.
Does anyone know offhand what the max RES is for this game? I can take old graphics but super low resolutions are harder for me to swallow on my 28" widescreen.

...waiting for Firefall
Holy crap, I loved Daggerfall.
But seriously, don't download this game. It is impossible (Read : IMPOSSIBLE) to beat without hacking around the myriad of bugs. Play Oblivion instead.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! That excludes the chance of it being released in a "easy install with no fuzz" Steam version... I'm not complaining (ffs it's free!) but I would pay for a perfectly setup version available from within Steam.
And while we are on the topic of Bethesda Steam releases... gstaff: although I love your ES games releasing Call of Cuthullutullubaloo on Steam gave you 12 out of 12 camels in my Book of Awesome Things That Have Happened. That game is seriously mental, in a good way. Thank you!
Now I know what I'll be playing over the weekend. Still the best game of the Elder Scroll series. Shame they simplified character generation, spell maker, guilds and got rid of the different endings in later ES games.
