Stardock Entertainment and Ironclad Games have released the Entrenchment micro-expansion, along with the v1.15 patch, for their sci-fi strategy game, Sins of a Solar Empire. The expansion sells for $9.95 and the patch is small enough that it downloaded too fast for me to catch the actual size of it in the Impulse client.

"After nearly 15 years, the war which raged across dozens of star systems is nearing a stand-still. The great fleets of the Trader Emergency Coalition, the Vasari Empire and The Advent are near stalemate. With the fronts temporarily stabilized, there is time to regroup, and entrench. Great defensive battlestations are being deployed and critical choke points fortified. Will this buy the TEC, Vasari or Advent enough time to organize an all-out offensive?"
Entrenchment is the first micro-expansion for Sins of A Solar Empire, adding new structures, new technologies, and numerous other improvements to one of the most popular PC titles of 2008.
Explore entirely new strategies with new defensive structures like Star Bases, mines and the Subspace Inhibitor, and brand new research technologies to customize and improve them. Each race relies more on their unique strengths than ever before, resulting in new defensive options and strategies.
Features
Starbases - Each race can build its own unique starbase defensive platform. Packed with weapons, armor and other upgrades, one is capable of defending an entire planet.
Turret Upgrades - Improve the firepower of your defensive turrets.
Subspace Inhibitor - Slow enemy ships that pass within its range.
Mine Fields - Defend your territory by laying down paths of destruction for your enemies.
