Waaaay too fast with a sequel. I mean, with all the games coming out last year, I didn't even have time to play past the point where you reach the first huge space station! At this point, since I havent touched it in a year and forgot the whole darn story, controls, and gameplay system, I think I might as well start from scratch. Didn't really care for my character much anyway. I have the strat guide and I read the first novel even, but none of those things could get me to complete this game.

Mass Effect came out in 2007 for the 360. If ME2 comes out fall of 2009, that'll be a 2 year cycle. Considering they've already built all the tech, all they have to do is improve it and continue the story which most likely, was already written. I don't feel that its too fast at all.

Do you also feel that Gears 2 was released too quickly?

Mmmm... no, because I was actually able to finish Gears 1 after being stuck on the final boss for months. But Gears is a much faster to finish game than Mass Effect.

It's really a personal problem of me being swamped with games. Bioshock 2 will be just right, in terms of a sequel. I guess my opinoon is that the longer a games takes to play, the longer the span of time should be between sequels. But again, if you can finish games in a week, you wouldn't feel this way. If you take years, like me, then sure.

Yeah, like some guy on here once said, my opinions are heavily colored by personal experiences. But isn't what the way its supposed to be?? Who's aren't? Am I too selfish with my opinions?

Wow.... back on topic, Mass Effect 2 in 2009 is absolutely NOT too early; and I would love to see that happen. Bioshock also came out in 2007, and it's not our fault some didn't want to finish the game. But enough of the cookie-cutter side planets please; make some real side missions.

Now I know you're on crack. Mass Effect is about a 15-25 hour RPG depending on how methodical you are in playing through it. Both times I went through ME it took around 16 or 17. Bioshock should take the average user 15-20 hours as well. Just because YOU have not finished it, does not mean that its a long game.

Theres one thing I want: to be able to visit earth. I was dissapointed when I got to our own solar system only to be able to visit the moon.

A bit more interesting side quests, and the game would be even more awesome. Fallout 3 type side quests added to mass effect. Game of the year right there.

I'd agree with you there, the side quests in Mass Effect were fairly limited and very similar. If they were more akin to what we got with the Bringing Down the Sky pack, man oh man.... what a game that would be.

I am not sure which made me grin more, the fact you just had a 4 post arguement with yourself, or the fact that I think you.. lost.. the arguement?

Let it be very clear: While this is indeed some kind of confirmation that there will be a ME2 (probably released in nov 2009 or so), the Bioware devs. at GDC will be given a lecture to their fellow (nerdy) devs who enjoy building levels in games. This probably means a lot of talk on how to place buildings, trees, rocks and how to overcome difficulties when making a game like ME2. And how their experience from ME1 helped them overcome these difficulties. And maybe some talk of tables, charts and codes.

It is not by gamers for gamers this time - it is for nerdy game developers by nerdy game developers.

Currently enthralled by ME. Bioware should really turn it into an MMO.

Can you imagine?
