The framerate, texture quality are all better on the 360 (as testified by many people and witnessed myself), yet they say the reverse? Is this just some stupid mix-up or is there some agenda here endorsing the PS3 version as the better console version?
The PS3 version is inferior visually yet it gets a better score? WTF?
This game is the epitome of why I hate 4th quarter rushes. I don't see any time to play this with Borderlands in the 360 and MW2 a week from today. It looks really good though.
I just don't feel excited about it. Hearing that it could look better disappoints me. If its like those videos I saw, meh graphics. I think I'll wait just like I'm waiting w/ Borderlands, at least till I'm in my house.
Perfect. By then the price of the game will have dropped; which will make up for the extra cost of a new gaming computer.
Nice one, Mr. Sarcastic!
Oh, and a "gaming computer" for me is several hundred dollars, not the thousands you guys dump into them. I buy cheap/old technology. I'm several years behind the curve. Always.
Huh, so apparently the Gamespot review is wrong from what I'm hearing from people. I told my brother to get it for PS3 but now I'm thinking about calling him back and tell him to choose the second best option.

Played this with my father last night on his PC (thanks to EB for breaking the street date here, the first useful thing you've done...ever).
It was pretty damn good/fun for the few hours we got to play. The graphics looked quite nice at max settings with 8x AA, so I don't know what their problem was. It plays damn well, the voice acting is pretty good (so far) and the few quests we've gotten in to are fairly good so far (playing as a mage).
The sucky thing is how limited the maps feel at the moment (though not nearly as restrictive/linear as the start of Mass Effect). Also, the gore is completely over-the-top.
Having said all that, I'm really looking forward to snagging a copy for myself. I was originally going to get it for the 360, but after playing it on his PC, I have no idea how it'd work well. I'll have to get the PC version instead.
For me this one is a "Wait until next year when they bundle all the DLC into the GOTY Edition for x9.99". Wish I had done that with Fallout 3.
Of course when I do it will be PC all the way. I just got an Xbox 360 the other day; my first console of this generation... and I want to sell it. They just don't hook me anymore. Glad I only traded a crappy unused guitar and practice amp for it.
Yeah, ever since Borderlands came out I can totally wait to play this. If I ever get the urge I'll just put in the 'old NWN or NWN2 discs. I absolutely love those two games and it'd be hard for DA:0 to top them so I can wait.
Playing it on my 360. Awesome awesome game. Thoroughly enjoying it. Can easily see me becoming addicted to it. Bioware have sucked my soul again.
This.
I was seeing a lot of bashing yesterday on various forums, but I'm guessing those people grew up with a Playstation and have no idea what Baldur's Gate is.
This is why I stick to PC gaming when I can. I'm bummed I purchased Brutal Legend on the 360, when it most likely will come out on PC eventually. The 360 version has horrible framerates. I don't know why we can get games like Uncharted and U2, but this crap? I'm confident that for a PC today that costs what the 360 or PS3 cost when it was released, you would be able to play all these games with fairly decent graphics and consistent framerates. I love my consoles, but they disappoint me so often, I just get frustrated.
I'm curious what my friend is going to think about this...he's played all the D&D CRPGs from Bioware and the like, and having recently begun playing Neverwinter Nights 2 with him, those games seem super deep from the character creation point of view, and I didn't exactly expect Bioware to go that deep with an original property, but the character creation here seems a little shallow. I was just getting into the crazy characters one could make in NWN2 and the expansions, perhaps the DLC will eventually expand this particular area, much like NWN's expansions did.
