Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs already broken

Stayed up late to play this at midnight...only to be met with some screwed up washed out blue blurriness. From the Steam forum it looks like everyone is experiencing it. Ruins the atmosphere of the game so hopefully it gets fixed soon...I wont play until it does.

Anyway...just a warning. Don't buy until they patch it.

-Update, I guess the blue crap is intentional: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum...html#pid257141

After playing a couple hours so far the game feels like a disappointment and a step down from the original Amnesia. It's not frightening at all. Too much reliance on jump scares and the monsters look comical. There is no longer a sanity meter so you can just crouch in the darkness and stare at the enemies until they walk away. I actually stood in front of one of the monsters just to see what would happen, and it screamed at me for a few seconds before deciding to give "chase" which involved me running around a corner until it gave up looking.

Also the game no longer has an inventory which means all the puzzles are very simplistic and there is no backtracking. I heard this game was a collaboration between Frictional and The Chinese Room, but I'm beginning to think it was mostly developed by the latter due to the easy nature of the game and the bigger emphasis on storytelling.

Why do people complain about these things and never post a damn screenshot?
