Wolfenstein: The New Order Gameplay and Interview

VG 24/7 has a video of Wolfenstein: The New Order which includes some new gameplay footage and an interview with one of the developers.

Played this twice at PAX. It felt and looked good. It was also pretty hard, I died several times on normal difficulty. It felt like a "classic" FPS, mostly in a good way. Not sure I'll get it day one, but I will get it eventually, seems like a solid game.

Wasn't the last one kinda chewy? I seem to remember renting it only to be underwhelmed with it. Wolfenstein is a solid IP sure but...Well lets hope this one turns out better.

Yeah the last Wolfenstein was rather bland but still good in some ways. I was thinking this game was probably going to be the same mediocre thing but this Youtube video changed my mind. The story and what little I've seen of the gameplay looks fantastic, save for the wall-climbing section. I'm actually considering a day one purchase on this now.

Can't wait for this one I just really hope those graphics are because it was the PS3 version or something.

I'm liking what I see here. I suppose it takes a foreign developer to get back what ID has lost, the sheer pleasure of killing Nazi's. I'm a sucker for "Rescue the girl" stories too. Liked the last Wolf just fine. I considered it a cut above bland though far from perfect.

I suspect we're going to see one last batch of current-gen quality graphics as many games are going to hit both 7th and 8th generation consoles.

It was pretty good, but I avoided it because it had way too big a focus on multiplayer. Half the achievements were for multiplayer (stupid reason not to buy a game, but there you go.)

But this new one is SINGLE PLAYER ONLY and I could not be happier. Day one purchase. I love single player FPS. And it looked SOOO good at PAX. Did not get to play it, lines too long.

Do you get to kill Nazis in the actual game or is it all Nazi robots?

Oh, it was mostly Nazis, only a couple of mechs and a few flying robots were in the parts I saw. There was no shortage of Nazis, for sure!

I really enjoyed the last Wolfenstein. At least, up until the last boss fight, which for some reason was just incredibly annoying. I think it had something to do with the bad guy spouting the same dialog over and over again. I was so annoyed that I didn't even finish it.

I love the whole "Nazi's messing around with the occult" stuff that they've had in pretty much all the modern Wolf games. I'll probably love the new one, too.

Yeah I'd rank it right up there with the RoTT remake. Rock solid if you've got that itch to scratch but not a priority.
