'Zerocoin' Add-on For Bitcoin Could Make It Truly Anonymous And Untraceable

---

It's pretty easy with Coinbase, tbh. Just takes awhile.

If you're only interested in putting a small amount in, I recommend mining.
Would be a small amount indeed. If you just want a non-zero amount to play with, try the bitcointip bot on reddit, which will give you a small amount of bitcoin if you have more than 100 comment karma, using the redeem-karma command.

Coinbase seems up and down today, but I did finally get in and buy my next 3 coins (@99).

Still down ~$70 from the first batch but the price seems to be creeping back up at a reasonable level now.

I am anxiously awaiting the next pop. As of 5pm Pacific time Friday, the price is $120. I predict that at some point in the next 48 hours we will see it below $80 again, barring any trading freezes from MtGox. Purely my random gut reaction though.

Cyprus forced to sell their gold reserves to secure bailout.

That seems kinda shitty, these guys just keep piling restrictions on now that Cyprus is under there thumb. "Oh, yeah, and any artifacts with gems or precious metals too. Chop chop, you want this bailout or not?!"

Coinbase is definitely the easiest to get in and start buying with. Their supply can be limited, but just be patient and keep hitting refresh. I just bought 10 there today while they were still below $90, and it took about 10 minutes of hitting refresh -> buy before I managed to get it to go through.

Another way to look at it, in the last 12 hours bitcoin has gone from a low of 54 to a high of now 122, a gain of 124.9%.

Now 127, so that's what, 134%.

That'd be interesting. Not many want to get twice burned so it should be a slower price recovery and this seems to be happening pretty fast.

Could very well be the same price manipulators who made the crash happen now feeling the bottom was hit and trying to lock in gains for the next pump&dump.

I think the true value is somewhere around $200 tho. So it could also be merely people breathing easy that repudiation didn't happen and buying back in for the next rally.

Whoa, they were just denying this was gonna happen yesterday.

It's not helpful to have huge short-term gains if you're locked into, or out of, the market for moving the coins. Who cares what the 12-hour return is/was when you can't do anything to take advantage of it either way (selling OR buying)?

Well I think it's due to the hope and/or belief that the value of bitcoins will become more stable in the future.

So the short-term ups and downs really shouldn't matter as long as in the long run you believe you'll be up.

Selling's easy, it's the buying that takes time. Mainly because fiat digital transactions are difficult and take time due to their nature.

This damn price doesn't know what to do anymore. One second it's 90, then its 140, then back down to 100, then 120, then 90...

Hopefully it stabilizes a little bit by Monday, once banks reopen.

I'm gonna laugh if it hits $80 overnight. I figured I was being *too* pessimistic with 48 hours, but if it does happen, that'd make things interesting.

I see the sell-off is still ongoing. Wake me when it gets to $10 a coin.

Let's not be overly dramatic. The prices are back down to where they were a week and a half ago.

Lol, do you have any idea what the demand would be at $10 a coin?

Even if it did, do you imagine $10 a coin to be a deathknell to the currency? Aren't you vindicated only if it goes to zero?

I would be ecstatic if it went to $10, omg I would buy soooo many, and in a year when it creeps back up, as it did after '11, and hits $500 in the next run up, you'll still be saying it's doomed :P
