1) I cannot see any of my friends online, if I'm not in the shift+F1 mode.
2) If I go to shift+F1 I can see my friends but not invite them.
3) I cannot find the games my friends have made even when they are public.
4) I cannot search for a game name - so I can find the games my friends have made.
5) Game crashes CONSTANTLY - loses ALL progress.
6) Every time I try another server, it FORCES me to do the tutorial and then doesn't let me do it.
This is the worst release of a game evar. You guys need another 6 months of beta testing and then re-release. Did you even TRY and make this game easy to use? The interfaces are horrible. Its just a big janky mess.
I'll be honest, anyone who bought this at launch, especially after the Diablo 3 experience, is kind of getting what they deserve. This is what happens the first week of any big name game that requires a constant connection to servers. It should be expected at this point.

Not with MMOs. They just aren't hiring good network engineers or beta-testing properly.
I expecting similar issues next week for Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm. My hopes are that since it has pre-loaded that hurdle will be handled and that fact that SC2 still sees a lot of play traffic means their infrastructure should be in better shape.
Still, I expect the tubes to be congested as millions more come back to SC2 for the new expansion.
I take it you weren't around for the first 6 months of WoW back in '04-'05.
I was, but that was nearly over 8 years ago. Most MMOs launch well now, and honestly, WoW was a victim of it's success. They did not expect to have to literally triple their infrastructure in six months.
I don't know why they can't learn from their mistakes but usually they done.
Never fear, EA PR Speak will appear soon with some excuse about "The sales performance of the game exceeded our wildest predictions so our servers crumbled under the weight of so many unexpected people! We're working to increase resources as we speak!"
They aren't, actually, increasing resources. They're waiting for the week 1 spike to drop at which point servers/bandwidth requirements will equalize (and begin to rapidly drop).
I've been boycotting EA games for several years now. Everyone should join me in the fight.
Sorry, won't do. I don't boycott publishers. I'll not buy individual games because of things, but I'm not going to write off an entire publisher because of it. After all, if you do that, then you can't give positive reinforcement when they do the right thing by players.

OR to people to pirate (there is a crack already), and for people to give up (a LOT will) in the first couple weeks.

Rumor is that right now there is no way to crack it, as vital parts of the game are kept on EA's servers and streamed to your PC as you play. Until someone gets their hands on those parts and creates a way to integrate it into a local install, you'll have to be connected to play.
