Far Cry 3 is so, so good. I've had it since last week and its already one of my favorite games of the year.
But it will sell like ass after the dismal Far Cry 2. Most fun thing about that game was the whole "Burn It!" group think/chant at a PAX demonstration before release.

FC2 isn't that bad... once you mod all the flaws out of it.
Q1 2013 is totally buried in games. It's like a X-Mas launch. Look at this list,
BioShock Infinite
Tomb Raider
Gears of War: Judgement
Grand Theft Auto 5
Dead Space 3
The Last of Us
Crysis 3
Aliens: Colonial Marines
God of War: Ascension
Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Watchdogs
It's insane.

Good RPS are dead anyway. Dead because of how simple they are. How mindbogglingly stupid the stories have become and how bland and J-Pop their characters are.

What's insane is a total lack of RPGs. Another FF spinoff does not count.
I'm not sure that is a full list, those were mostly the games I lifted from the front page!
I know it is speculation, I think this is a real sign that the new hardware will be announced in June. Everyone is trying to cram in these last few titles before the new launch.

I think this is more that they were pushed to Q1 from not wanting to compete with Halo 4 and CoDBloPs 2 during Christmas.

I would think that... except this was such a lean holiday. Assassin's Creed III, Black Ops 2 & Halo 4. Not much else.
It seems like there was more than enough room for a couple of more titles. I certainly don't feel like I need to run out to the store to add anything to my collection right now.

J-RPGs are dead for quality, and without a strong D&D edition to give a known setting, A-RPGs are a bit bland per usual. Worse, the concept of enemies that level to match the player has permeated the genre, negating the entire point of the gameplay. I DON'T GRIND-LEVEL MY COMING OF AGE HERO AGAINST THE ONE GLITCHED SLIME IN THE SEWERS FOR FORTY HOURS TO FIGHT THE FINAL BOSS AND FIND HIM AT HERO LEVEL+1!!!!!

Japanese culture-centric titles have been hurting for years. They've gone so far down the anime and bishoden rabbit hole they cannot see the sky behind them, anymore.

Nope. Sold ME1 when I sold all my 360 games. I own ME2 for the PS2 that I picked up for $20 on sale. With all the talk about a crap ending, I didn't see the point in playing ME3 until it hits the bargain bin.
