EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- Developer Overhaul Games announces that pre-loading has begun for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition on the PC in preparation for release on November 28th.
The original Baldur’s Gate launched in 1998. With over 50 hours of epic gameplay, it quickly became the most celebrated Dungeons & Dragons fantasy roleplaying game series at that time.
On November 28th of 2012, Overhaul Games revives this classic game.
In addition to enhancing graphics and gameplay, Overhaul has added new allies to join your party, complete with unique quests. And for the ultimate test of tactical skills, players can enter the Black Pits for an arena challenge. Overhaul Games has also given PC, Mac, iPad, and Android tablet players the ability to join together in cooperative multiplayer.
Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition for PC is available exclusively through Beamdog for $19.99. Pre-purchasing allows players to pre-load the game data and grants them a special badge on the BaldursGate.com forums.
The game can be pre-loaded through either the Beamdog client or a stand-alone installer. Pre-loading the game allows players to access Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition immediately after its release on November 28th.
I wonder how much content they have actually added to the game? Also how the game runs on the tablets. Real shame they didnt put this thing on steam, would have made so much more money than using the beamdog client (whatever that is)
I guess I'll be passing after all. If it had a Steam release I'd impulse buy but I'm not ready to set up yet another account, with yet another service who will spam me and sell my information, and with yet another point where my CC and personal info is available on the web.
I guess they'll only be getting one sale from me if I pick it up for iOS. And I'm not sure I will do that; I'll have to see how the controls work first.
Wow, that video was terrible. These guys suck at marketing. Randomly moving crap around in inventory for a second and showing a half second of scrolling around in the quest log for no particular reason, WTH? Several disjointed and unrelated combat scenes...
*sigh*
Think I'll wait to see some reviews of how well it actually runs before buying this one.
