"World Exclusive: Watch the two-and-a-half minute Super Preview
for The Amazing Spider-Man, swinging to theaters everywhere
July 3rd. Who's your favorite all-time Spider-Man villain?"
Did Emma Stone give you the finger while driving by or something?
There's an odd vein of hate for Emma Stone running through the internet these days. I think guys just dislike charming, attractive girls who succeed?
In any case, I find the CG looking a little too cheesy, but the action set pieces seem to be more exciting than anything in the Raimi trilogy. I'll give the movie a shot before I discount it. The director also did (500) Days of Summer, so I feel like I owe him one too.

Amen. Probably those guys who talk about how "hot" Meagan Fox is.
Movie looks like it's gonna be just fine. Some people expect every movie to be Avengers in terms of action and Schindler's List in terms of acting or it just "sucks."

I really liked the trailer. Nice piece where Peter is talking to the kid. Gives him a very human tangible quality as a character. Looking more forward to seeing this now.
Personal rant...Why do the superheroes always have to take the mask off in movies??. I mean just looking at the trailer . Looks like he takes off his mask or someone takes it off..I thought the whole thing about being a superhero was a secret identity. They did the same thing in the Avengers (best movie I have seen in my life and I am 43 years old). but it was half way through the movie and everyone knows who Steve Rogers is.. Reason why I always liked the Dark Knight . He kept his damn mask on and protected his identity.. Christ that was a long rant

The reason Hollywood gives is that when a mask covers an actor's face, it is impossible to portray emotion without words. Comics can get away with it because they change the shape of the eyes, mouth, etc, of the mask in order to convey the intended emotion. A Hollywood mask just doesn't do that. So, they try to have the mask off as much as possible, whether it makes sense or not.
Batman can constantly wear the mask because the lower portion of his face and the large eye areas allow the actor behind it to portray emotions. Spider-Man can't. Captain America could have kept the mask on, but lets be honest, his mask was so terrible he looked better with it off.

Amen to the captain america part... That mask was the worst. It was horrible. I pointed that out to some friends, and they all loved it, and I felt like maybe I just didn't understand because it looks horrible to me.

New spidey feels unecesarry. It is just a money grab.
That trailer looked pretty dumb. I felt like I was watching a trailer for a tv series on BBC.

I think any movie that is a remake of another movie that was released within a decade should be legally required to add the word "...again" to the end of any kind of dramatic phrase like "Spider-man's greatest secrets will be revealed!" on their trailer.

Its a reboot because the studio that holds Spidermans rights were going to do another movie with Sam Raimi, but they didn't like where he was going, they didn't know if all the actors would have came back, so they did what anyone of you guys would have done if it was your job to get this movie out the door, and they went a different way.

I'm looking forward to this movie. I know it hasn't been long since the Raimi movies but this looks good. Garfield makes a good (young) Parker and he moves like Spider-Man should. Also has Spidey's wisecracks down.
I'll go see it, counting it out because of the previous trilogy is silly. They're rebooting Batman after DKR - and we have another Superman reboot. The last Spider-Man movie sucked, I'm glad this one seems to be doing it right.
