CNET is reporting that Nintendo has dropped the price of the DSi and DSi XL to $99 and $129, respectively.

It's been a tough time for handheld game systems that aren't phones or tablets. Sometimes, the only real solution is price drop.
Nintendo is lowering the prices of the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL, the larger-screened version of the DSi, to prices that, frankly, most people probably imagined they'd be at anyway: $99 and $129, respectively. These prices take effect May 20. The Nintendo DSi currently has an MSRP of $149 while the DSi XL is $169, which seems ridiculous considering the more powerful but more battery-challenged Nintendo 3DS now costs $169.
Meanwhile, the Nintendo DS Lite continues to sell for $99, which is the version of the DS without any downloadable game service or cameras.
So, anyone know if it worth picking up? Any really must have games for it?
There are absolutely ZERO reasons to get a DSi now that the 3DS is out. The 3DS is superior in every single way and can play every single game the DSi can.

I am looking for some good RPGs to play, something my Vita sadly lacks. Hope that changes soon.

That thread may help you find an RPG. If you want an A-RPG, however, and favor more the fantasy experience rather than young and attractive girl (Or girl-boy) simulators that dominant the J-RPG market ... well ... why are you buying Sony products?

I am more looking for a turned based RPG, old school PS1 type things. Along that kind of lines. PS used to have a major collection of these kinds of games, and I was hoping with the vita they would translate over. I haven't browsed the download library too much yet on the PSN, but I recently purchased Legend of Dragoon, and it couldn't be transferred over.

A brief search lead me to believe a PSOne emulator was in works. You will probably be able to dump your old PSX discs onto it with some homebrew.
While I have had fun with my DSi, I rarely use it, and I do regret getting it compared to a DS Lite cause I can't play my library of GBA games. I wouldn't mind getting the GBSP (the model with the backlit screen) just so I could not only play my GBA titles but my GB ones as well.

A lot of those RPGs are turn based. The Persona series (Persona 2, P3P, P4"G" which is coming out soon) all the Disgaea games, FF Tactics: War of the Lion, Legend of Heroes, Lunar, Phantom Brave, Tactics Ogre, Wild Arms, Yggdra Union
Hell, 3/4 of that list actually ARE upgraded PS1/PS2 titles. What the fuck kind of "turn based" RPG are you looking for?
