Two things...
1) When people talk about "WoW status" they usually mean the massive number of subscribers the game currently or once had. Even in its current diminished state, WoW still has a ton of players.
2) For what it was/is, WoW is a very well made game. Yes many of us are now bored with it but being bored with the game doesn't make it bad (or good for that matter.) We've just moved on.
The game started out fine, Got really good. But the direction they've taken the game in recent years has lead directly to the lose of subscribers and most ppl with Years invested in this game moving on to greener pastures.
But i agree with what u said for the most part.
Being good in the past though, doesnt prevent you of become shitty later.
Its kinda scary the everything-must-be-absolutely-fair ideas being bandied about for pvp. You guys generally seem more Republican/Libertarian then liberal but these ideas being espoused are .. well.. really really communist.
So, it boggles me that everyone wants pvp to be a level playing field. That would be kinda boring.
If you think about it most games must communist since MP in just about every game short of an MMO is even playing field.
RE: MMO PvP, we're talking about removing the Gear crutch not minimizing skill, planning, and organization. What's the problem with narrowing down victory to knowing that it really was a skill and build win rather than you being carried by your gear? PvP is more fun, IMO, when no one has a built in game mechanic advantage.
