This engine is kind old now, man what sh#t graphic.
Nah ah.....not if you believe Dan Bunting, Director of Online, who says that their goal was to bring PC quality graphics running at 60 frames per second to home consoles.
Not that COD is a "realistic" game however in this day and age of stealth drones, hand held mini drones and other robotics the US military has used horses in combat within the current war.
I understand that horses seem like a large step backwards and obviously have their ups and downs however they do offer several real advantages versus newer high tech forms of transportation.
Yet someone on their development team will say "we are trying to bring to you, a realistic FPS..."
Someone will say it. Just you wait. I can't wait to see horses vs mechs. I will bring the popcorn

I never got StarWars. So they killed the Emperor...what about the 1000's of other fleets? They just gave up and the good guys won. Huge fucking plot-hole but then again...George Lucas. :P
According to the expanded universe, the remnants of the Empire quickly fell into in-fighting as various warlords rose up in attempts to claim everything for themselves. Palpatine's death created a power vacuum that cause the Empire to collapse from within. It's not like it was set up in a similar manner to our government with a clear succession plan should one or more people in power die; Vader was really the only clear successor...and since he was dead as well, all of the admirals and other high-ranking began squabbling as the Alliance reestablished the Republic.
I buy them all. I'm a little burned out on the multiplayer -- which is a huge part of these games -- but I enjoy the single player campaigns.
This statement really puts all of your gaming opinions into perspective.
It all makes sense, really.
You refer to games like Diablo 3 as simply "more of the same", despite the fact that conscious efforts were made to change and improve upon the old formulas established by it's two predecessors...and then turn around and buy the same damn game each time it's churned out.
I enjoyed MW3 quite a bit. I'm not too sure how I feel about this game though.
The fact that Treyarch is going after the group Anonymous, and using Oliver North as its consultant for his Nightmare Scenario just puts it over the top for me.
Wow. After reading about it and seeing this it looks pretty cool. If they can get some fresh ideas in there I will gladly buy it (and just when I swore off COD too).

Sounds logical to me.
I tried Diablo 3. It is nothing more than more of the same. It will be fun for a few hours, then "Meh".
As it works out, the campaign's for the Call of Duty games don't last for more than a few hours. About the time it gets boring, it will be over.

Adding "Robot Zombie Horses" to my journal. Filed under "Future story idea".
Heck, I could use that as the title for a short story and I'll bet it would sell a bundle!
You have my blessing sir!
@Chimpbot - You're fucking real. I like that. And well versed in your Star Wars lore. +2 to cool
OT: An interesting bit is that the spec op missions for this game can affect the SP based on whether you win the missions that are part of this global conflict. Now THAT's cool. Also, you play as one dude in the 80s and his son in the future. So while I still feel "meh" about the game, their aim in this particular aspect intrigues me. That is some innovation on their parts. We'll see if it's meaningful or only changes the color scheme. Full tidbits at mp1st and Joystiq.

Devs will say anything to sell a title more often than not. Horses versus unmanned vehicles has already happen. The United States Marine Corps still trains with mules, in addition to using drones and other advanced weaponry.
My biggest problem with the use of legged mechs would be the risk of knocking them down using very simple means. However they are in development. I do like the story as I believe it is a real concern and also the fact that we have already seen the start of this kind of warfare through the apart hijacking of our very advanced drone along with UAVs getting weird viruses while operating on bases within the United States it is apparent to me that this story is not only realistic but also has already begun.
