The 1911 semi-automatic pistol has been one of the deadliest and longest serving weapons in Max Payne's arsenal. Making a welcome return in Max Payne 3, this hard-hitting, reliable handgun - a staple since Max's NYPD days - features machine-gun like firing rates plus the ability to dual-wield.
Extremely light-weight, yet packing enough force to punch holes in any enemy brazen enough to cross Max's path - grabbing a couple of these as you dash and Shootdodge™ through crossfire will make you a dangerous target.

That's what I fired last new years and it was fun as hell. Speaking of classics, I found a Steyr Hahn in the attic yesterday. Too bad it belongs in a museum or I would consider getting it restored.

The trailer is wrong...his "favorite from the beginning" was the 9mm Beretta, that was always his signature gun. I don't think the 1911 was even in the other two games.
They actually updated the video to remove the "his favorite weapon" line:

updated to reflect a correction from the earlier version of the video - Max's original go-to dual wielding pistols were of course the Berettas. We apologize for the error and thanks to all the fans (and our lead designer) who caught this in the original video!
sai: Its not nearly as strong. The kick you felt is because your using an old firearm with bad ergonomics and design. It's a sweet weapon though, but not one id choose if i had to use one to save my life.
