It isn't so much that it is two discs, more the unparalleled stupidity of splitting the single player campaign in half -- instead of having one disc for single player and a second disc for multiplayer.
Man that's a really stupid way to look at things. I suppose Kojima was stupid too for splitting Metal Gear Solid for Playstation in two discs? How about Square for Final Fantasy VII in FOUR discs?

Of course they're outdated. Heck, plenty of people believe that physical media in general is outdated. That doesn't make this 2 disc story a big a deal.
I'm not really seeing any issue here. I'm playing The Witcher 2: EE at the moment and it's on 2 discs for the single player on the Xbox 360. I really don't mind swaping discs, not like I didn't do it in the old days with my pc.

This just in, fat fan-boys outraged at Max Payne 3 on Xbox 360 being multi-disc, fortunately for Rock Star and Microsoft most have run out of breath before being able to post said outrage to gaming forums.
