Bringing all heroes together is what makes it for me, plus trailers were good and intriguing, I dislike loki as main villain but even in comics he always knew how to make a shit load of trouble so it can work.
Beside the Final Fanatsy like monster has me drooling ... it looked sooooo good .... first movie of any of these (iron man, captain, hulk ,thor and so on) I actually am willing to spend my time on and even actually go and see at the cinema (and I boycott cinema usually) so ... they definitely did something very right here
I wouldn't go that far, the guy has some talent, but I've always felt that everything he touches falls so far short of being great that only people to overlook his weaknesses can really enjoy it.
He is the very definition of "Good but not great."
Which explains why you don't see more projects from him.

Don't be faithful to the comics = people bitch. Be faithful to the comics = apparently people still bitch.
I've never read the comics at all. I was getting really annoyed with all the Marvel movies lately just being a giant commercial for The Avengers, and after the abysmal Iron Man 2 I didn't have much of a desire to see The Avengers. But then I watched Thor and was pleasantly surprised and thought Loki made for a really compelling villain. So yeah, I'm happy he's the villain in this cause he was probably my favorite part of all the Avenger prequel movies.
It makes the text invisible unless you highlight it, so you can put spoilers in for people who want to view them. (take out the period in the ending /spoiler tag, can't show an example of the code without it actually turning into spoiler text)

Yeah I was looking for the little red exclamation my other forums have and couldn't see it so assumed you didn't have it.... it was like 3:30am.
Considering he's Cap he doesn't have a lot of screen time. Hell I get the feeling Black Widow gets more. Wasn't counting but yah. He seems mostly there for the "Srzly guys c'mon!" bits. Whereas he should've been much more central, but that's what you get I suppose trying to crush about 98 characters into one 2.5 hour movie.
Ugh, didn't realize it'd be a 3D film. That just dropped it a few notches in my book. When will 3D finally die already.
The answer is 3D won't die this time. Film studios and TV manufacturers are in cahoots over 3D at the moment.
Movie theaters need a "New Big Thing!" to get people into the theater to watch movies rather than waiting for the video release. They used to have picture quality, but with the advent of HD, that's gone. So, now they're using 3D.
Meanwhile, HD has pretty much run its course as the next big TV technology. TV manufacturers need a reason for people to go out and buy new TVs to replace the HDTVs they bought over the last 10 years. 3D is the horse they attached their buggy to.
The fact is just like you can't find a standard def TV now, you won't be able to find a 3D-less TV within 10 years and you'll be forced to upgrade. Then they'll do it all over again.

Just got back from watching it, went to a 2D version of the film and it was great, not something that really needs to be seen in 3D imho...
Really really enjoyed the film, my wife who knows nothing about the avengers (she quickly wiki'd them before going) thought it was great to. Hulk is awesome, great sharing of the limelight but Downey Jr once again comes off best. Man i hope they make sequels
