As a devout atheist, I celebrate Easter because after the man called call Christ died and then lay rotting in his grave, his followers finally had to accept the fact that they had been fed a bunch of delusional lies. They then set about writing the true story of how Christ actually performing no miracles and never claimed to be the son of god.
Of course, they were then murdered by the religious powers that be so that they could continue to feed sheep-like humans delusional lies.
That's MY Easter myth. Hmm, that would make a KILLER movie.

I'm more of an Agnostic myself. There could be some form of god-being, maybe life started with the big bang and evolved as science says, maybe some god-being had a helping hand in it, there's no way to prove or disprove it.
I do however not take much belief in the Christian bible, or any bible really. Those books are written by men, not any "god" and they are so extremely full of loopholes and contradictions that it isn't funny. I could go into details but there's no reason to offend anyone who may be a Christian, so Happy Easter And even if you don't celebrate Easter have a good Sunday afternoon and enjoy discount priced candy tomorrow

o_O They were murdered by religious authorities who opposed the idea of Christ generally, and had Christ not risen and been seen by many the rest of the tale doesn't make much sense. His followers would've wandered home and left it at that, it seems. His enemies never said he didn't do miracles, just by what power does he do them. Similarly, you couldn't have fooled the many jewish people who converted who saw with their own eyes.
I don't want to turn this into some religious debate, but there's my counterpoint and we can leave it at that.

I appreciate your thoughtful response. That's the beauty and blessing (if you will allow me to use the term) of living in a free society: We can agree to disagree.
