A recent post on the Bioware forums discusses a gamer who was unsatisfied with the ending and the general experience of Mass Effect 3, and was issued a full refund from Amazon.com, despite the game being opened. Being slightly skeptical, we decided to contact Amazon directly for the real scoop.
We first spoke with an Amazon representative on chat support, and after a very long pause, were directed to call Amazon’s customer service line.
Using the order of Mass Effect 3 we placed for one of our contest winners as a reference point, we told the Amazon rep we were completely unsatisfied with the game, and made clear that it was not Amazon’s fault; instead, we conveyed that it was the developer’s fault.
After another lengthy pause, Amazon told us they would “issue a full or partial refund if you are not satisfied with the quality of Mass Effect 3, and it is the developer’s fault.” Upon Amazon’s receipt of the game, it would then be sent to the return department for evaluation, and it must be returned within 30 days of purchase. We want to emphasize that Amazon did not promise a full refund, but they did promise, at the very least, a partial refund. And this was for the PC version of the game, and we made sure they knew it was open and had been played.
Quality of the ending aside, if you finished the game (thus playing through the entertainment value of the product), asking for a refund is a bit ridiculous. If the game was bug-ridden or otherwise not fully fu criminal, that would be something different.

Hahahahaha.
Nuff said the whole story leading up to the ending was fucking ridiculous. (ME3 anyway)

I haven't taken the plunge on this game yet, but I can't imagine something having such a bad ending, that any of the companies would willing refund your money.
Like dirtbag said, unless there was something wrong with the product physically, or it didn't perform correctly, you shouldn't get a refund because you didn't like the end of a story.
The movie business would be bankrupt...instead they charge 14 dollars a ticket to watch their crap!

I finished the game and thought the ending was a terrible disappointment and still think this is goddamn pathetic. You played the game. You don't deserve a refund because you didn't like the last ten minutes.
Only game I remember in recent memory that deserves full refunds was Sword of the Stars 2. That game's been out for 6 months and it STILL doesn't work right.

Saints row 3. Still getting 15 fps while driving on a top end system, they keep promising a fix but no sign of it even as the 3rd dlc releases.
I didn't really like how they presented the ending, but I wouldn't go that far. I still enjoy the rest of the title. Are there dissapointments? Yeah. I enjoyed the rest of the game plenty. Especially the multi player.
I've got to say Amazon has always (for me) had great customer service. I had bought two different phone cases. They sent me an email to do a survey. I said I didn't like the first one I bought (I wasn't going to return it because there wasn't anything wrong with it), and they sent me a refund. Didn't even ask for it back.
During Christmas they messed up an order. I emailed them, and they called me. I don't think I've ever had an online store call to help me.

This is flagrant abuse of the system. There is nothing technically wrong with the game, in gameplay or story.
You don't like the end, so you ask for your money back?

So did you enjoy your ending that basically told you..."the dlc is coming with the whole other half of the story sorry you were dreaming most of it though lulz"?

And gamers wonder why no one takes them seriously.
