Dark. Very dark. Would have been more effective if the English voice acting and dialog hadn't been so cheesy.

I thought the same thing. Bad voice acting can really kill a game.

Over the top Japanese writing really needs over the top Japanese acting. When converted to English is just sounds bad and comical. Thank God the last entries in the Yakuza series have not been dubbed due to insufficient funds.

IGN gave it a 7.5. i might try out the demo. it would probably be better if you could listen to it in Japanese and read ENG subs.

Reminds me of Armitage. Loved that movie. They should have kept it all in Japanese and it would've been better.
