Boston — September 3, 2010 — Adding to previously-announced music industry superstars Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews Band and Kid Rock, Seven45 Studios reveals the entire track list for Power Gig: Rise of the SixString today. The incredibly diverse list of 70 tracks boasts songs from across multiple rock genres including alternative, classic, indie, metal and punk, with more than 80% of the tracks making their band game debuts with this game. Each artist has provided original master recordings of their hit songs for Power Gig: Rise of the SixString, the first band videogame for which the guitar controller is a functioning six-string electric guitar. Power Gig: Rise of the SixString will be available for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system October 2010.

Wasn't John Mayer critical of music games a couple of years back? How times have changed.

Seems like a typical setlist though: I've heard of about half the songs and not the rest.

I believe his criticism was that they were somehow preventing kids from learning the guitar, even tho I'd bet there was an upswing in instrument purchases. Given that the whole point of Power Gig is that it teaches you how to play guitar while you play the game, it's probably right in line with what he thinks instrument-based rhythm games should be.

If they don't figure out some way to make the RB3 Squier compatible with this game, Power Gig is going to crash and burn pretty hard.

I can say that since I already plan to get RB3 and would only get Power Gig if I didn't have to buy another guitar.
