Many people have fallen in love with Clash of Heroes for the Nintendo DS, so it should make those same people exponentially happy when their title makes its transition to the highest definition on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. It'll be out at some point later this year. IGN:

For the uninitiated, this is what Clash of Heroes is all about: it's a puzzle/RPG/strategy hybrid with vague similarities to Puzzle Quest. The difference between the two games, though, is that while PQ borrowed an existing puzzle game called Bejewelled for its battles, Clash of Heroes presents an entirely new game to master. Your army lines up along the bottom of the screen and faces off against the enemy army on top. By maneuvering your multi-colored troops into vertical lines of three you can send them to attack. Horizontal lines of three will create a wall that will slow down the enemy's troops. From these basic mechanics, Clash of Heroes slowly becomes more complicated with a large variety of troops, each with their own abilities. The whole package is wrapped up with beautiful fantasy art. Think of Clash of Heroes as Puzzle Quest's hotter, younger sister.
Question for you guys: how playable is it on the DS screen? Should I just wait for the Live version?

It is a very fun game with some decent depth to the strategy; choosing which units to use and when, leveling up your units, leveling up your leader, special abilities and when to use them, playing defensively or offensively and which hero is more suited to which play style.
Overall very fun game, that plays extremely well on the DS screen. I will get it for arcade just to have more opponents to play (PS it mo' betta' have split screen single console play or I wont be buying it...).

Cool, was actually looking to get this on DS in the not too distant future. This is even better. My DS hasn't been getting much love 'cause I can't stand playing on those tiny screens for an extended period of time.

Playing the DS game right now. Not too deep, very linear and straight-forward but a brilliantly innovative puzzle-versus game and a lot of fun. The HD visuals look beautiful, but I like these kinds of games on my DS or iPhone so I recommend just picking it up on DS (or iPhone if they decide to release it there).

It's actually pretty neat the way they setup the battles on the DS's screens. Your units take up the whole bottom screen(so you can move them with touch). Your opponents take up the entire top screen. When someone attacks they 'invade' the other screen.

Consider that Puzzle Quest's journey from DS/PSP to iPhone took a whopping 21 months. Granted, Capy already has one of their other properties (Critter Crunch) on the iPhone, so if the business decision is made to release it there, it should hopefully take much less time.
The good thing about Clash of Heroes coming to XBLA/PSN is that there will be demos for people to try before they buy. And, as much as I love the DS version, the thought of online multiplayer has me salivating...

Thanks, I am behind a work firewall, so couldn't see the good stuff =).
