Assassin's Creed 2 Getting DLC in January and February
A user over on NeoGAF was busy checking out the Ubisoft official forums and located a tasty morsel for you Assassin's Creed fans out there. Looks like in January there will be some DLC coming starting with something called "Battle of Forli" followed by "The Bonfire of the Vanities" in February. No word as to what these will contain, but hey... it's coming folks.
I'm kinda torn on getting this. While I firmly stand by that AC2 is my GOTY, and I loved every minute of the game...I'm done with it. I collected all the chests, did all the silly races, etc, and most importantly, finished the story. I really don't have any real desire to play it again for quite some time (if ever).
I dunno, maybe if they're either super cheap or really add something truely interesting. And not just another "get from point A to point B by doing a series of acrobatics" puzzle. I'm talking adding something like a grappling hook so I can swing through Venice like Spiderman, kind of interesting.
Actually, I'd honestly rather skip the DLC and have them just start on AC3. But of course that won't happen till they've milked this game for every cent they can. And I don't blame Ubisoft for trying to make money (they're a business, afterall): I blame this generation of console gamers, who spinelessly eat up any and all DLC that comes their way, and have thus ruined games on both consoles and PCs (see:MW2, Madden10, Guitar Hero franchise).

I'll certainly bite on this one, if it's anything more than a new armor set (yeah...for the horse!). I finished the story, but still have some collecting to finish up on and trophies to land. I also have the GameStop DLC to check out, so the game has a few more days solid before I look for something else to tinker with.

Wow, you are god damn whiny. You could have made this post a lot shorter by saying "I don't want to get the DLC, but I respect people who do!". Insulting people who choose to spend their money on expanding their gaming experience just makes you look like a child. The amount of entitled crybabys who post on this site never cease to amaze me.
Welcome to the Internet. Nice first post; aggressive, condescending, ironic (whining about whiners), and...you'll fit right in!
This is not my first post on an internet board nor is it my first time on the internet. As for what I said, I'm just stating the truth. Everyone complains about DLC all the time yet they're never saying the right thing: it's your choice to purchase it or not purchase it, just like it's your choice to buy the game in the first place. Like the people who said they aren't going to buy Dragon Age because of the Wardens Keep addon. The game itself is already huge, they just presented the option to play an extra level if you so desire. They did not intentionally leave the game "unfinished", they just gave you options. But of course the armchair critic forum posters find any excuse they can to bitch and moan, so they force some deluded perspective upon themselves to feel validated in their discontent.
Another product is rushed onto the shelves unfinished in the name of DLC. Viva la Borderlands!
The last thing I'd consider AC2 is unfinished. From start to finish, it was polished with content galore (when compared to AC1). I got pleanty of value out of my $60 with the time spent playing, so won't begrudge Ubisoft a little extra money on DLC.

My thoughts exactly. Amazing game; I am happy to fork out a little bit more to continue the experience.

Since I got it from Amazon for $51 shipped + $10 game credit, I got much MORE than my money's worth from AC2! So, like you, if it's good DLC, I don't mind it at all.
I'm somewhat baffled by a history buff picking MWII over ACII for his yearly full-price indulgence.
History buff? You have the wrong person. I enjoy history, but I'm hardly a history buff.
Also, MW2 was an early Christmas gift; I was given the money specifically for the title, and ordered it myself (I threw in $20 to upgrade to the Hardened edition). I haven't bought a full-priced game in so long I can't remember the last one. Halo 3, perhaps? Before that one, I don't even know...
I'll get AC2 when it's cheap. It will be. Nearly all of them are, eventually.
