Oh Johan. Post #3 was an attempt at a joke... I think (although there was a banning that took place). My comment was directed towards everyone who brought the politics in, not just you... even though you're pink.
Veteran's Day is for the men and women who have proudly served our nation in whatever endeavor she has requested of them. Our armed services are volunteer only, and from the moment of enlistment a military person has elected to sacrifice a measure of freedom for the benefit to the freedom of others. Those who do so have my eternal respect and gratitude.
Note: Even if zaekrex were being serious, someone questioning, or even insulting, something you view as important, crucial, or sacred is not being "un-American".
The wonderful thing about being American is that we can publicly question things like, say, if the Gestapo and KGB are really working for the betterment of everyone or just the personal whims of those in power. I'm sure Stalin questioned plenty of Russians' "patriotism" as well.
If our soldiers are fighting for freedom for people on the other side of the world, the least you could do is respect the freedoms of those here in the US.
If you will take a quick look, yutt, you will find that your little buddy got the sharp end of the ban stick for being so careless and very un-American.
I was saying that Veteran's Day was not an appropriate venue to be kidding about
God Bless our Veteran's and our Patriotic, Honorable, Brave, and American soldiers.
