This weekend on Steam you can purchase BioWare's sci-fi RPG, Mass Effect, on sale at 50% off ($9.99).
Quote:
As Commander Shepard, you lead an elite squad on a heroic, action-packed adventure throughout the galaxy.
Discover the imminent danger from an ancient threat and battle the traitorous Saren and his deadly army to save civilization. The fate of all life depends on your actions!
Does it still have that God aweful DRM shit on it even when purchased from Steam?
If it does, I'll pass.
If not, I will be adding this to my collection...

I think EA patched out the DRM software from its first batch of games on Steam.
I might have to get this. I have it on XBox, but I found the controls so bad that I couldn't really play it well, mainly because I can't stand FPS sort of things on XBox - I can't control them worth a damn. So maybe I'll sell off Mass Effect for XBox and use the money for the PC version.
I own the 360 version, but I almost want to get it just to have it on Steam.
I'm in the same boat, but I always feel silly for buying the same game twice (I did that with Fallout 3 and a few others).
I've been on the fence about spending $20 on torchlight, but I'm seriously considering paying $10 for a game I've already played twice and still own for 360. What's wrong with me?!?

I picked up Torchlight at the same time that i picked up Mass Effect.
I'll be buying the L4D2 4-pack before the end of the week.
yes! I've been waiting for this price drop. I finished this on the 360, but after I found out the PC version was better, I decided I wouldn't make the same mistake with ME2. so now I need a PC character to transfer over, which means yet another full playthrough of the game.
Borderlands, Dragon Age, and now this? *sigh* Bye bye free time.
This is why I'm not hopping on this deal. I have unplayed games to finish first. Why add to the game list if I'm not going to get to a new game within six months. I don't have the time to play games like I used to.
Heck I think I come here and TALK about playing games more than I actually play them.
This is one of the greatest games ever made. If you haven't beaten this game you are missing out on one of the great gaming milestones of the decade. The gameplay is good, and the story is amazing.
I also highly reccomend looking up how to change the .ini file that lets you have a max inventory of, say, 400 rather than the stock 100, which gets rather quickly filled

.... Shit. I'm getting old.
I've got a backlog that is 3 years old at this point, but I think it will be a while until you can get the game for 10 bucks on the PC, so it's worth a purchase even if it will sit on a digital shelf for a few months.
