Do they really need to make episode three? At some point you need to move on. Even if the story's not finished. And with the dev environment Valve has, seems enthusiasm for more HL2 eps has simply drained away and probably much of it transferred straight to L4D. I'm okay with that. We don't need HL3 or 4. I'd rather have new IP entirely. That said, if they revisit the franchise in 10 years it will become a point of nostalgia and be embraced. That's Nintendo's trick. Make sequels too often and you wear out its welcome and the franchise dies, ala Tomb Raider.
Well considering episode three is supposed to be the final episode in the whole episode thing, and would resolve that cliffhanger at the end of 2, it would be nice if they would finish it. I don't think they need to make more Half Life games after that, but at least finish what you start. Its not like its a series that people hate or something that they keep trying to shove down our throats.

Does he have a blog? Can he just have his outbursts there instead of on EvAv front page, and instead tell us he's working on fixes for Borderlands? That'd certainly be better than people thinking he's complaining about Valve. Really, let it go, Pitchford.
Borderlands is a fun game, but it's also the absolute laziest port from console to PC I've seen in years. It feels like an Original XBox - to - PC port. The UI is absolutely horrid, and to fix any of the problem you need to dive into .ini files. And Gamespy for the multiplayer? Seriously?
It's a little funny to hear him criticizing Steam when the PC as a platform has clearly become an afterthought to his company's development process.
