Uncharted 2 is the best PS3 exclusive. Excellent game. It's going to be hard for me to nail down my game of the year. Right now it's a two way tie between Street Fighter 4 and Uncharted 2.
Could you explain the multiplayer in a little more detail? In particular I'm interested in the rewards for playing longer. Does this make things more difficult for new and infrequent players, or are you matched up with people of similar experience?
Some of the best moments in gaming I've had in a long time. I've played a million train levels but this has to be the best one due to the "realistic" physics used and your ability to jump in and out of the cars. I stopped fighting for a bit just to take in the background. A few frustrating control issues but nothing that took away from the game. One of the few games well deserving the hype and top scores.
Funny thing is one of the unlockables is a "Next Gen" filter that makes fun of the color palette of most games use now. It basically removes most of the color from the game and makes it look brown.
This game is fantastic, and one of the few games that had me on the edge of my seat while playing. Some of the set pieces are simply awesome, the train section being one of them.
It's gorgeous to look at, has a great story and excellent voice work. It's really hard to put down.
The multiplayer is also excellent, but I totally suck at it. I do wish the matchmaking system would put you together with other players of your level as it can get a little annoying when, for example, a lv47 player is running around with sub-level 10's

Heh, that was in the first game too. All it did was make everything brown and add glowies. I didn't know what the deal was, but I guess it's a piss-take like you said
I can't wait for next pay day so I can buy this mofo!

There are two sets of boosters that you are able to unlock and apply. Out of each booster category you can apply one to your character for any round of play. The higher your rank, the better the boosters are that are available to you. I have noticed that there are a few boosters at the top that actually apply negatively to your character. I guess that must be to make it more of a challenge for you. I don't know if that boosts your multiplier when playing as well or not.
You also can purchase more skins as you rank up and earn the income for competitive multiplier. There is also co op which you have a bunch of unlocks for as well that help to give you an edge when playing a coop match with people.
As far as the matchmaking, in general its pretty even. You will find a higher ranked player mixed in with lower ranks, but usually they are pretty evenly divided when the match starts. Like say a level 30 with a bunch of 10 or lowers vs a couple of 10s and maybe a couple of 20s. Every once in a while you get in an uneven match, but in my experience it hasnt been too common.

For me its either Uncharted or Batman for the time being. Uncharted is pretty much the perfect game though. Great story, great characters, great setting, great length, great replay value, great multiplayer, great graphics. Greatness all around :P
Pretty much, Duskfire. My game of the year is either Uncharted 2, Batman: AA, or Persona 4 (this is games I've started and finished this year).
Like the reviewer, I couldn't put the game down. I've only played the single player portion and that took me about twelve hours to complete (I suck at 3rd person games with a controller). At work I showed my co-worker the opening cut-scenes (via youtube) and she really wanted to see this 'movie'. So I imagine that this is one of those games that will thrill not only the player but observers as well.
