I do find it weird how much blood is on you after battles... I fought like 3 rats in a cellar and i was covered in blood.....
I agree. I'm torn between leaving it on and turning it off. In some places, like the dwarven arena, the effect totally works. But in places like the rat fight you're talking about it really looks odd.
The only thing I disagree with the reviews on is the difficulty level. I know the enemies are a little easier on the consoles (different control scheme made it VERY difficult on "normal" on consoles, according to devs, so they tweaked it), but I haven't had a problem yet at all.
I'm playing the PC version and I thought the same thing...after getting farther in the game it gets incredibly hard.
After spending some time on the PC version, I have to say I'm very impressed. The writing is, overall, quite well done, the combat system seems fun, and the environments are truly gorgeous. I don't know what things are like on the consoles, but the texture quality and art direction is really lovely in the PC version.
It also runs remarkably well, with speedy load times and really decent FPS, considering the richness of the environments.
Yeah, someone didn't tune this correctly. Apparently participating in *any* kind of combat instantly covers everyone in your party in a uniform spray of little blood specs (which looks really odd on some characters, like your dog). Really, guys? I could understand for long, drawn-out battles, or some really dramatic set pieces, but I don't think knocking some street thugs around is going to paint the town red.
This was a main gripe I had with Ninja Gaiden 2...sure limbs will fly if you flail a sword around them long enough, but it just felt overdone, and less interesting.
Of course, so far, all I've fought are some wisps and a demon, so I haven't had a chance to check out the blood soaked remains of my party.
In the warrior tree there is Threaten and Taunt, I also saw one of the loading screen tips say enemies priority attack people wearing heavy armor (which seems stupid, but helpful).
I know...in NWN2 the first person who gets a sword down their throat, not to mention the melfs acid arrow and magic missiles, is the magic user in the party...usually the one with the least physical armor.
