Left 4 Dead 2 Preorder Demo Out for 360, Delayed for PC

Both the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the demo for Valve's Left 4 Dead 2 were supposed to be released at some point yesterday. In the official Left 4 Dead 2 Steam group, there was even an event setup starting at 4pm Eastern Time on Tuesday. That time got pushed way out...

While Xbox 360 owners that pre-ordered L4D2 can now download the demo, PC users are still waiting around. Valve issued a press release that makes no mention of the delay, just letting us know that the PC version will be out "Wednesday" (that's today).

As of this posting, the PC demo is still not out... kind of frustrating when you coordinated a group of people to play it on Tuesday evening. I guess that makes this pre-order bonus one day less valuable, eh?

I guess this sucks for those who pre-ordered it. Kinda annoying, Steam is usually alright at this sorta thing. 'ehh.

I noticed that the game has so far pre-loaded two times yesterday, and is now pre-loading again for me. If this is happening for others, it might be them applying patches under the guise of pre-loading, and until they get it worked on some test machines they're not going to activate it. So in the meantime I get to watch Steam download it over and over until they get it right.

I almost organized a L4D2 demo day, but went with a Tekken match instead. Good call, I guess.

My buddies and I were all set..till it said 2am for EST...Uh, some of us have to work in the morning. Said ah well, maybe tomorrow. Well now my hopes are up and my fiance can't wait to watch me play. Please be it so!

Well mine is pre-loading. Again.

In the greater scheme of things, this doesn't really mean much of anything in my life, but at this particular moment in time, I'm monumentally annoyed with Valve's head-in-the-sand, mum-is-the-word shenanigans on this PC demo launch.

Maybe to make up for the royal fucking we got on the "early demo access" (HA. HA.), the PC crowd will get an extra level to demo.

Yeah, I like to dream there's some from of justice in the world. Sue me.
