PS3 Ghostbusters gets a New Coat of Paint

When Ghostbusters the video game first came out it was compared to the 360 version and was found that it wasn't running anywhere near as well graphically so Terminal Reality decided to finally fix this issue. A patch has been released that increases the resolution to match the 360's along with fixing of some freezing bugs and giving you access to two achievements, Pay Day and Capture All Most Wanted Ghosts.

Quote:
IGN say that fixes have been made to both single and multiplayer modes, most important of which is an upgrade to the game's visuals that's resulted in "an increase in resolution to match that of Xbox 360" version. There's also some random freezing corrections, along with the long-awaited fix that'll allow two of the game's achievements - Pay Day and Capture All Most Wanted Ghosts - to actually be unlocked.

From Kotaku

I'm impressed that they went back to fix the issue but I would think its a little late as most of the posts I read decided on the 360 version, because of the graphic issues, before launch.

Since the PS3 version is my only option (well I could get the DS version....) this pleases me. I have a backlog of games to play and now this will be even better when I get to it.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Sony, who has a vested interest in this title as they own the movie rights (I believe) and they also own the European distribution rights for the game, mandated this to coincide with the release of the PS3 Slim model. But regardless of the 'why' of it, it equates to a better overall game experience and that is the bottom line.

Ghostbusters was a LOT of fun, one of the most enjoyable games I've played this year. Not the 'best game of the year' or anything like that, but in terms of playing it through and just enjoying the characters, dialogue, story, easy gameplay mechanics and true Ghostbustin' feel of the whole thing, it was a real treat. It felt like watching one of the movies, and really...if you're gonna play a game called Ghostbusters, isn't that really the most important thing?

Now, I just wish SNK-Playmore would get a fucking clue and realize that their own flagship franchise, King Of Fighters, needs the same post-release attention.

Oh, and to Pwnophobia (who should understand this

You look like the piss boy!

I don't think the problem w/ Ghostbusters was the graphics...

Could someone who has the patch please confirm that the Firehouse Save bug was fixed? I am extremely hesitant to buy this game until they fix the Firehouse Save bug. Every review I've read slams this -- there's no reason they can't fix this.

LOL.
So wtf, they went on and on and on about how they were making this a PS3 game 1st and foremost. That the PS3 version would look and play better than the Xbox360 version.

Yet again, I take this as solid proof that the PS3 is just LACKING and will never match the XBox360 in terms of power or performance or features.

There is just no selling point in getting a PS3, not even at a $200 price point. I would rather have a Xbox360 and a Wii and just get a stand alone Blu-Ray player (if I ever get one)
