Didn't they release Prey? It was decently received and played. Not by me of course, lol.

Oh wow, here's something I didn't know, DNF is set to be scored by the amazing, the illustrious, the stupendous, the great composer Jeremy Soule! This guy rocks, I have a number of his soundtracks to games he's down, starting with his first game. He's the only foreign composer to be used by Square for one of their games when he sent in a demo and was used to score the Secret of Evermore, which had a really great soundtrack.

If you've never heard of him, check out his Wikipedia page I linked above. He's probably done a whole lot of games that you remember having awesome music. He did, for instance, the soundtrack to KOTOR, Morrowind, Guild Wars, Neverwinter Nights, Prey, Unreal II, Warhammer, Dungeon Siege, and all the Harry Potter video games (and more).

So, there's one good thing sure to come out of DNF, an unforgettable sonic experience. It'll probably be weird liking the music more than the game, at first :P

I have a serious question.

How has 3drealms managed to stay in business? Other then Prey and a few other games, they haven't released that many games over the last 10+ years, have they? How do they stay afloat when so many others have come and gone?

Well ... rumour has it that they are on MS payroll. But you didn't hear it from me.

It's entirely possible that 3DR only keeps a handful of core team members during prototyping.

So work on game play and requirements and then staff up to finish. More feature film style than game studio.

They've sold the Max Payne IP for 45 millions, for starters.
