Killzone 2 fans will find a patch available when they switch on the game this morning. The patch brings the game up to v. 1.20. Available first to European players and then U.S. gamers later in the day
Stability issue regarding randomly named games resolved.
Stability fix when rapidly tapping (X) can cause crash on spawn-select.
Stability fix on ‘Creating game’ with a blank name.
Stability fix for repeatedly entering exiting game.
The Ignore list functionality corrected.
Unlock of “Frontrunner” Medal now functioning correctly.
Fix for incorrect award of win to clan not showing for game resolved.
Battle Replay for Corinth Crossing not appearing correctly on www.killzone.com.
Issue with not being able to defuse the Search and Destroy objective resolved.
HUD issue correction during Assassination mode when playing as a Medic.
Controller input tweaks and modifications.
Fix for auto-lock on of shotgun exploit.
Fix for D-Charge issues in Campaign mode.
After a quick hands-on it would appear that the "deadzone" which bugged quite so many players has now been significantly reduced in both the single and multplayer modes.
Awesome. My amazon pre-order finally came in last night, and I noticed a significant difference between the single and multiplayer controls, with the latter being far more enjoyable.
I just don't understand why they would choose to have different settings in each mode (and while on topic - why did they pull the cover system from multiplayer)...?
Now all I need is a damn toggle option for that crouch button, and the controls will pretty much be perfect.
Wow, nice update, and it came pretty damn quick too. I'm loving this game. But to get max enjoyment out of the game you should join a clan because of the squads function. Not just for the voice com channel but the ability to spawn at your squad leader's location is great. It makes even large 32 player games personal because it keeps your group together.

Eric Boltjes: We ran a lot of tests with the cover system in multiplayer, but we just found that because of the 360 degrees nature of multiplayer, it just didn't really work. We found that it didn't add enough, and players would just rather not use it!
How is that possible? From what I've been reading the controls were perfect and didn't need to be tweaked in any way and everyone had just adjusted and the world was a perfect place because of it....

It was fine. I killed loads of people with the controls. So great, now I have to make changes. Boo hoo. I should bitch and cry like everyone else.
So, the only way they are going to generate sales from the controls update is if they patch them into the demo as well, since players who didn't buy the game due to the controls don't have any other way of knowing if they are fixed to their satisfaction.

It sucks when people suck at games.
right... i think you're confused. we could all adapt if we wanted to, but it would still suck. i could still ride my bike to work if i wanted to, but it would still suck.
people don't suck just b/c they point out they don't like something that sucks.
You see thats awesome. Not even a month out and a massive update! Can't wait to get home and check out the controlls. It was the only thing putting me off from playing.

Hell dude, it was barely a week, let alone a month.
I really hope GG continues to have this kind of support with the game - it really shows that they are listening to the community and trying to satisfy as many gamers as they can.

Well said. That's a lot nicer and thoughtful reply than what I was about to post.

No offense, but I can't imagine Evil Avatar is a very good place to start a PS3 clan. The community here seems fairly ps3 hostile. How many people you got so far? (I use to visit EvAv back in the day because it was one of the few places that still had a PC gamer slant while everyone else was focused on consoles, now its pretty much 360 territory.)
