It looks like our friends in the land of the rising sun are getting some classic 2d fighting action with the console release of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger for the PS3 and 360 this summer in japan. If you are unfamiliar with this game all that really needs to be mentioned is that BlazBlue was created by the team that ushered in the Guilty Gear series. Don't fret though because this is not going to be a simple Arcade port but in fact Arc Systems has promised to be adding in single player content with a supposed playtime of over 30 hours!.
Quote:
The story mode, which will involve all 12 playable characters, will feature a variety of branching story choices, most picked directly by the player adventure-game style. Depending on how things go, your character may start at a disadvantage in some battles, either with reduced energy or without one or more of his signature moves. (Some branches will occur based off whether you win or lose a match, but these are the exception, according to Mori.)
i love guilty gear and got a chance to play this in the arcade. not a huge fan off the bat, and its totally different than guilty gear. i will still pick this up though.
Thank fucking God. Now I have no reason to buy a PS3 at all in the foreseeable future. Sorry Sony, but you lose my money yet again by having nothing exclusive worth playing (For me at least... This was supposed to be it).

Hmmm, you seem to be correct sir... Which makes my hopes deflate somewhat. I had heard they would only be bringing this over to the PS3, but that was before they announced a 360 console version. If we are lucky we will see a localization. I cannot see why not given that they have treated more than a few Guilty Gears among other things (i.e Battle Fantasia).

Much like Goodwin's Law pertains to Nazi's, the probability of a "musician" coming into a thread about Guitar Hero or Rockband and being a douchebag approaches 1.
