The Last Remnant to Steam

A partnership between venerable Japanese developer/publisher Square Enix and the digital maestros at Valve has been solidified, allowing Square Enix's games to be offered through Steam. The first to be released will be The Last Remnant, available April 9. Yahoo Finance:

Quote:
Beginning April 9, THE LAST REMNANT(TM) will be available for purchase via Steam, which makes PC games available online to more than 15 million users worldwide. An action RPG from the makers of the FINAL FANTASY® series, THE LAST REMNANT will be the first Square Enix game to utilize Steamworks and be distributed via Steam. Square Enix will continue to add to its roster of games on Steam, providing users with instant access - after purchase, they can download the game immediately and start playing. Pricing will be announced at a later date.

"We are excited to offer the millions of Steam customers online access to Square Enix titles beginning with our major action RPG, THE LAST REMNANT," said John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Inc. and Square Enix Ltd. "Square Enix is committed to delivering the best quality titles to PC gamers and distribution on Steam is one of the many steps we are taking to increase accessibility for fans in North America and PAL territories."
Nice to see them branching out.

I'm looking forward to the reviews on this. I've enjoyed what I've played on the x360, but wish for better load times. I would be very tempted to buy it again for PC if the load times are improved and the rest of the quality of the game remains the same. I am all for supporting moves like this.

360 load times were much more tolerable w/ game install, but yah, still significant. This game seemed like it could have used a little more time in the oven, but at the same time, I honestly really enjoyed it. I haven't beaten it yet, i keep getting too sidetracked doing side quests, trying to get more characters, etc. to ever beat the game!

BLACKOUT!

I've been waiting for the PC version of this title, i think that it will fix almost all the major errors that were in the 360 release. (pop in, load times, etc.). I'll obviously be picking it up through steam now!
