Valve Denies Left 4 Dead PS3 Rumor

Computer and Video Games is reporting Valve has denied a recent rumor which had their popular shooter, Left 4 Dead, heading to the PS3.

Valve has brushed off new rumours (again) of a PS3 version of Left 4 Dead, sparked by a rather decisive listing on a UK retailer website.

With not just a PS3 version listed, but a release date of June 5, EA down as the label and even the ability to pre-order the game right now, HMV seems pretty sure it's happening. More than an easily-missed typo-o, anyway.

A Valve rep, however, mocked the listing, saying to CVG: "Fantastic. I can't wait to see it."

I dont see why EA and Valve would not want to release this game on PS3. I find it odd that they would not want to promote this game to as many people as possible, including PS3 users.

Why would PS3 owners want it? Isn't the reason they claim they don't need a 360 is because they play games like this on their "ahhsum gayming peesees?".

I always found that odd when previous 360/PC exclusives get mentioned for the PS3 and the PS3 only crowd gets excited. They supposedly already played these games. Right? Right?

I suggest ps3 owners upgrade their pc before buying this. Source games aren't terribly taxing and considering how TF2 patches were nonexistent for the ps3 I wouldn't count on L4D being anybetter. (if this rumor is actually true, which I doubt)

Besides Valve games are best on the pc, fast patches, free content and mods.

Gabe's been saying no PS3 Left 4 Dead since the beginning. Multiple times . . . why would it change all of a sudden?

Of course, that's not saying it couldn't happen.

You know why I get excited? Because I don't own a 360, and I don't like gaming on my PC. Chances are I'm not the only one.

Give over. Valve will never port any game of their over to the PS3 as long as Gabe is at the head of Valve.
If it were ever to be ported, it would be done by a third party.

Not that PS3 owners will be missing out on their games though. If they want it, they can play it on their PCs.
