Deus Ex 3 Story Details

This forum post on the Eidos Interactive forums has a summary of storyline points from a Czech gaming website article talking about Deus Ex 3.

Quote:
-the world is ruled by megacorporations, more powerful than national governments. The conspiracy groups are setting these corporations against each other.

-the black ops slaughter the research division of the corporation Adam works at. The questions who and why is behind the attack are answered relatively soon into the game, however more serious questions arise with the answers.

-You will be regularly visiting Adam's apartment with many reminiscences of his past like photos and a diary

-The game takes place in five well-known metropoleis, mentioned were Shanghai, Detroit and Montreal

-Women play a large role in the game, some of them you've known for a long time, others will try to seduce or betray you, depending on your previous actions

-Bosses are included, their difficulty also depending on your previous actions

-The secret societies are just puppets for a shadowy figure who wants to take control over all of the market, society, and the human evolution.

-The events of the game will lead to the establishment of UNATCO

-The main villain is to be 'similiar' to Jensen

-a rescue mission across the globe later in the game

-squad based combat AI with a visually identifiable squad leader
Dare we get enthusiastic?

Wow, thanks for the spoiler warning. With that said, they better have some multiple factions and endings and not have an all roads lead to Rome with only two endings. The endings were one of the cool things that made deus ex memorable, hopefully they wont screw it up. It looks promising, the only real complaint is that I hate prequels in anything, no matter what you do, it will not alter the world from the previous games, so does your actions really matter?

After Deus Ex 2...no, no need to be enthusiastic.

I didnt hate Deus Ex 2, but it didnt do the first game justice and pushed the story into a very different setting. I am not sure how i feel about Deus Ex 3... i am keeping my expectations low.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I loved Deus Ex so I'll pick it up one way or the other.

No...unless Warren Spector's involved more heavily than during the 2nd, I am not hopeful.

The common perception is that Deus Ex > Deus Ex 2.

After reviewing each title, I have decided that this perception is the result of Invisible War being such a terrible game.

It is still acceptable to be optimistic about the prequel.

-squad based combat AI with a visually identifiable squad leader??

What is this, a RTS? The rest sounded ok, but this sounds retarded for a DX game.

I'll settle for slightly optimistic. It sounds like they are trying to model the prequel after some aspects of the original. If it has skill points, weapon variety, and no damned universal ammo, as well as multiple objective paths, stealthy gameplay, and an intelligent plot... then it merits purchase.

They better not screw things up with DRM, though.

Is it PC only? (Am I going to get stoned to death for that question?)

Not an unreasonable question. Just an unreasonable expectation.

I'm not a big fan of how anti-corporate all the.. corporations have become. Nothing like seeing a huge budget movie funded by corporations, or like playing a graphics intense big name video game printed on a dvd that bought someone a yacht.

Can't we just go back to the old evil foreigners story line? Like, maybe the Mexicans have a devious plan with Kyrgyzstan to take over New York city with the aide of a fast talking pair of midgets and a robot?

Unified ammo again or some actual RPG elements from the first one?
