New Gears 2 Update is Live

The achievements we told you about yesterday are now coupled with a full featured Gears of War 2 title update.

Quote:
I'm happy to announce that Title Update 2 for Gears of War 2 is now available. It went live this morning at 2 AM PST (5 AM EST) and as you can see from the detailed release notes below, it's a significant update. It addresses a large number of multiplayer exploits and issues as well as makes some balancing tweaks, includes a couple of new features and even adds 7 new DLC-based achievements. Four of the new achievements require the Flashback Map Pack that came free with your new copy of the game, so don't forget to redeem your code inside the box!
Be sure to check out the linked article for the full list of notes. See anything you fancy?

# Made Horde waves count toward the "Party Like It's 1999" achievement. Each wave is counted as one round.
Oh wow, I would be like half way there by now had this been implemented sooner.

A welcome update or too little too late? Most of the people on my Friends list have moved on to other games due to number of people glitching and the the delay in this update.

I think too late for this gamer. I've completed the story campaign 3 times (normal, hardcore and insane), twice with a friend. Completed Horde up to 50, and played many multiplayer matches. This update may come in handy if I ever want to revisit GOW2, but for the most part I've got a backlog of games to complete first.

Although, if anyone can see if they fixed one thing for me. Planting the shield backwards prevented enemies from kicking it over, leading to epic win in Insane Horde mode. Is that no longer the case?

I can tell you that I traded the game in over 3 weeks ago due to the issues with Multi-player.

My buddies and I spent over a year on GOW1 but we got tired of the cheating and the bullshit matchmaking in GOW2. I dont know if I will ever play it again.

Part of me is excited about this.
The other part is asking why none of this was found/fixed when they were testing aka "polishing" out the game like Epic said they were.

I understand you never know what may happen until you unleash something on the public, but why wait so long?

Crabwalk, Weapon Slide and Kung-Fu Flip were used in Gears 1, why wasn't that the first things they tested for?

I haven't touched the game for a few weeks because of the glitches (other than a bit of horde one day, I think). This is a good batch of fixes, though. I do love the game, and I'll definitely give it another chance now.

I haven't touched this game at all, and I haven't really missed it. I liked the first, but for some reason the 2nd chapter didn't appeal to me as much. I will pick it up some day, though.

Nice to see Epic is trying to fix things, however.
