gamesindustry.biz is reporting that those lucky Japanese gamers are going to get a special Biohazard (Resident Evil 5) Xbox 360 bundle.
Quote:
The latest sequel in the franchise, known as Biohazard in the region, will feature in the Xbox 360 Biohazard 5 Premium Pack. It will include an 60 gigabyte Xbox 360 unit, a headset, and a copy of the Resident Evil 5 Deluxe Edition, which features a metal case and includes the game's soundtrack.
Microsoft and Capcom will also be including a code for accessing a premium Resident Evil 5 theme, all of which will cost JPY 34,800 (GBP 253).
I've been looking for a deal on a new Xbox 360 Elite. LEGO Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda are not the pack-ins that will make me pull the trigger. Throw in Forza 2 and Halo 3 and you've got a deal.

Wasn't there a Forza or Forza 2 bundle at one time?

A 360 that comes with 3 instruments, a guitar, rockband 2 and then the rockband 1 song list already added, some extra microsoft points for DLC...
I'd buy it.
RE5 is also something that will probably convince me to pick up a 360 sooner than later; unless they manage to do an awesome PC port like they did with Devil May Cry 4.
I wish they would make a RE5 themed box, like in the Halo days. I really need an excuse to buy a 360 with an HDMI port. Mine is For The Lose right now.

They should do another one. How many people who are shopping for the Elite system are interested in Kung Fu Panda?
My Xbox 360 under warranty from Best Buy broke 3 weeks ago. I replaced it with a Black elite unit at no extra cost, and it came with Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones.
I can't complain about free, but Kung Fu Panda is awful. If you like the lego games, Indiana is pretty good.

I could see them throwing in a copy of Forza 2 but Halo? A year after that games launch and it still sells reasonably well. For alot of new 360 owners its one of the first games they buy with the system. I don't see MS tossing it in with a new system.
I realize I'm immediatley contradicting myself because at the games launch a special Halo 3 360 was produced to push console sales. This was not so much a pack-in as an excuse to sell more machines and offer a slight discount on the game.

You're right. I understand why MS does not want to pack-in Halo 3.
The current generation of consoles has been around long enough that the new tech draw has faded and most of the people willing to pay the price already own them. People want value now. Margins are tight on hardware, but old games cost them very little. Pack-in Halo 3 and Forza 2; I buy the package along with a copy of GoW 2 and a Gold membership.
