Gamespot had the opportunity to sit down with Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling (aka fourtwozero) and get some hands on time with two of the four maps in the upcoming Call of Duty 4 Map Pack.
The first map is a greatly expanded version of the television studio from the early game "Charlie Don't Surf" mission called Broadcast.
Next up is an entirely new map named Creek, which GS describes thusly.
Quote:
This is a very large-scale outdoor map with a small cluster of houses on one side of it. In the middle, there's a huge ravine circling the perimeter with multiple levels of pathways up its side. Down below, the trail leads along the eponymous creek bed to a waterfall. Elsewhere along the base of the ravine, there's a lengthy and winding cave that cuts underneath the hill then out to the other side.
The other two maps will be called Chinatown and Killhouse.
The Map Pack will be available in the coming months on PSN and XBL, although no price has yet been set.
I hope they add some new Challenges to the game in the process as well!
The map pack will be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the coming months for an unspecified price. But interestingly, Infinity Ward hasn't decided how the maps will be distributed on the PC, where players are much more expectant of postrelease bonus content being released for free.
Sure hope its free
edit: oh and yes Killhouse is indead the name of a map in at least one of the Rainbow games, might be that the term Killhouse is a general term used for the special kind of pratice area special ops train in?

I really enjoy CoD 4, so I might actually pay for these maps as long as they are extremely inexpensive. If they bring something else to the table. . . like more levels and additional weapons, or new game modes, then I'd pay $5, but 4 maps without any other features is too little an update to be anything but free.
Maybe I've been a PC gamer too long.
Oh, a neat merchandising thing to do would be to give this away free to people who purchase another game by these developers (or another company that is willing to pay for the promotion and has a game that they think CoD fans will enjoy. . . like Vegas 2).
Just my luck - I just picked this up over the weekend promising myself I won't let my grades suffer. Now more maps?!?!? Oh boy... And R6V2 is coming out in a week???

Lets go Rangers!!!!
After the last two dismal maps they gave for free I am interested in paying some blinga ching if they put some thought in to how their perks with affect the structure of a map. Most of the maps in COD4 are very good. The street combat is better than I've seen in any came. However some of the maps seem to have been made with out much thought.
Killhouse is an example of a good and basic multiplayer map. I dont know about the original rainbowsix, but in Rogue Spear (which was R6 part2) there was an awsome map called Killhouse. It basically looks like 'wetwork' the ship level on COD4. Except there is no tunnel complex below deck and the flanks have two stories on them for crossfire sniping positions. Oh and of course it looks like a special ops training course. We played that map endlessly, it showed up on R6 3 as well which was called Raven Shield. I need the new maps to have intellegence like killhouse built into them and not more stuff like Wetwork. I imagine by paying we insure some sort of quality. I hope its the old R6 killhouse.
Cant wait to pay, cant wait to play. See you in my crosshairs

The last two maps were in the game since launch. All they did was add them to the rotation of TDM and IMO are two of the worst maps so I can understand why they left them out at first.
Wetwork is by far the worst map in the entire game for any game type.
This might be what it takes to get me interested in the multiplayer again.
hmmm. For me its getting shot in the face. You should take some time off, relax. Leave us freaks to our endless prestige moding. The world will go on...i just shudder to think what will happen when we meet on crash next
