I imagine some of these will come to the US down the road.

they really should put a regular ps vita next to it so you can see if its that much slimmer

sgtslappy 09-09-2013 08:17 PM

I wish my Vita looked fancy.

Azzy 09-09-2013 09:59 PM

i heard their new cell will be a dvr pc dongle that docks a vita so you can play your vita on your galaxy tab via your watch, at your leisure.

Did they announce they were switching to SD cards instead of the propriety memory?

Don't be ridiculous. I mean, what are people going to do with lower-cost, higher capacity memory? Buy games or something?

Sure. Whatever.

bean19 09-10-2013 06:32 AM

New model is fine, but I'd expect a new price too.

shadow763 09-10-2013 07:35 AM

The only change I am really behind are the start select buttons. Currently being flush is a pain in the ass.

It's apparently aimed at Casual gamers so must be cheaper.

Will be quite ironic if their new 64GB proprietary memory is more expensive than the console ;).

I'd have bought a Vita ages ago if it wasn't for the memory card "issue".

That's true, since every game is on a cart then the memory cards are only for save files. It makes sense that they want gamers to keep the smallest sized memory card possible. What purpose do they need bigger cards for? Who cares if they are overpriced, no one needs them and Sony doesn't benefit at all from customers having more space.

It does NOT have OLED so avoid this, buy the original.

Dude, are you stick in the 90s? There's tons of download only PSN games for Vita which eat up the small memory cards AND if you have Plus, Sony gives away full size Vita games as digital downloads. And let's not forget cross-buy in which if you buy a PS3 game you get the Vita version as a free digital download. Between all of that, I have TWO 32GB Vita cards which are basically both FULL.

So you could not be more wrong.

Sony sure does love its failed memory formats.

Yeah, kind of a downgrade.

Actually, sir, not to be difficult but I believe we simply forgot our sarcasm tags. :D

By the by, is the LCD screen that much worse? I'd like to see them side by side to get an idea of the differences in clarity, color, brightness, etc. etc. etc.

Wait... so you are saying how stupid Sony is for charging so much for the memory cards since it actually works in their best interest for as many gamers as possible to have memory???? So Sony would actually be better off, make more money, AND have happier customers if they didn't overprice their propriety memory? ....Wait, why are they using propriety memory again?

I think I agree with you on just how incredibly stupid Sony is.

Venkman 09-10-2013 12:07 PM

It's like an Apple iPod touch commercial, but with less flair to the animation.

shadow763 09-10-2013 12:48 PM

Missed the fact it lacks OLED. No interest in this whatsoever.

You really need to start storing your stuff on your PC or your PS3's hard drive since I'm sure you have much more than 32 gigs to work with on those puppies. My 1TB PC has a ton of Vita games loaded onto it and I'm still using the 4GB box-in memory card only (yes I'm a Plus subscriber to).

I'll never buy another memory card. Unless... I actually feel like trying out Phantasy Star Online 2 WHEN IT'S EVER RELEASED IN MY REGION GRRR SEGA

IAWTC If the memory cards were a decent price I would have bought the biggest size they offer and most likely a ton of PSN download games to fill it up by now as well. As such I only buy what I 'need' and have space for-- which is a lot since I routinely clean out my memory card in the form of Restore Point dumps onto my PC (pretty much everytime I switch out big PSN game downloads since it's only a 4 giger).
