Outcast Creators Obtain IP
 

Gamasutra has news that the original creators of 1999's Outcast have bought the IP from Atari.

Yann Robert, Franck Sauer and Yves Grolet announced today that they have signed and closed an asset purchase agreement with Atari Europe SAS recently regarding Outcast intellectual property.

Yann, Franck and Yves, the three founders of Appeal S.A., the studio that developed Outcast, have started the revival of the franchise and will soon announce further developments.

Well talk about one hell of a gog. This is great news, I really enjoyed outcast on release. 1999, wow how the times have changed.

I absolutely loved this game. Amazing music and graphics (VOXELS!) which brought my computer to a screaming halt. I would absolutely love another game in this series, even if it was a remake.

Ahh the voxel game. Awesome graphics at the time. This should be interesting.

Yes yes and yes. It was an amazing world they made, graphics ridiculous. I'm curious what the game would look like with today's computers if it could be hacked to higher resolutions. The engine could pump out endless voxels as I remember.. It would totally be worth playing!
