300 was one of those movies that grew on me. I saw it in the theater and wasn't all that impressed. After repeated viewings I really began to enjoy the film. I am looking forward to this sequel.

This one is about Themistocles, right? I always thought he was way cooler than Leonidas.

This was supposed to come out this August, but has been pushed to next March. I guess they need time to add more Channing Tatum and 3D?

I think that any time you can watch a movie w/ the sound turned off and say: "HOLY SHIT that's fucking gorgeous" means that at the very least - your film is well shot.

I got that out of:

300
The Watchmen
Blade Runner
Alien 1 & 3 (yes I like 2 a lot also)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

I would add King Arthur (Clive Owen film) to that list. That movie was shot beautifully and never felt like a bunch of actors standing around in a studio.

Yeah, but...we already know the ending! Why wasn't I given a spoiler alert in history class?!!? ;)

I never got around to seeing that one.

Is that version of King Arthur the one about that scounldrel Lancelot?

No. This is with Clive Owen and Keira Knightley. Came out in 2004.

Check it out, I highly recommend it. And if you end up hating it you won't be able to deny that it was filmed well with beautiful scenery and an excellent backdrop throughout. :)

He's right. And for another well-shot movie with Clive Owen check out Children of Men. There is one action sequence of around a few minutes with no edits and just chaos. Cool movie.
