Click on the image for a closer look at the PS4 console DS4 controller.

Looks nice - there is some confusion on if it will do av out (non-hdmi video) or not. There is an "aux" port, but no av out port like on the PS3. I've got HDMI so I don't mind, but others seem to care.

I'm pretty sure the Aux port is for connecting the Eye. I think you're stick with HDMI vid out as your only option.

And man, I will really miss the Xbox 360 controller. It's almost enough to make me stick with MS again.

ElektroDragon 06-12-2013 03:56 PM

Would like to add that they've confirmed the hard drive is removable/replaceable, unlike X1.

It will have a place of honor on TOP of my Xbox One if I do actually decide to get that crime against gaming as well.

DS4 is much improved and feels more like a 360 controller, confirmed by developer interviews. Some guy from Zombie Studios actually raved on the Sony live stream about how he was a huge Xbox fan because of the controller and how he feels the new DS4 is just as good feeling.

One thing that really needs to be better is the LT RT buttons, they were perfect on the 360 controller, the ps3's didn't have the ability to say, throttle engine power in GT5 with the dualshock as well as you could in Forza.

buying ps4 100%

Ugly. Leaning towards getting one but ugly.

My understanding is that they are now indented like Xbox. That pretty much seals the deal for me. So long, Xbox. It's been a slice.

Great pictures. The system looks infinitely better than the XB1 in size and dimensions - cleaner lines and a flat top (which, in my opinion, is better than the oddly shaped PS3 that never quite fits with any other component in my rack). I was never a fan of the DS3 controller and would get a lot of pain in my hands from the ergonomics and harder edges. This controller looks worlds better all around and just seems to evoke a more comfortable design.

I have always bought my PS systems 12 months or more out from the initial release but after seeing the potential, price and the way that Sony is putting customer priorities out front (having learned from the PS3 release train wreck), I am very excited to get this right out of the gate.

DualShock 4 touchpad is clickable

Quote:

The DualShock 4's touchpad can be clicked in, GameSpot confirmed on the E3 show floor today. It is unclear how this functionality will be used in games, and a Sony representative declined to go into further detail.

The touchpad is one of the DualShock 4's most noted additions from past iterations of the controller.

Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that the touchpad will be used for inventory management in Diablo III, but has not gone into further detail on how this will work.

I don't like where the thumbsticks are. Until they change that it's gonna bother me.

Sony seemed to be sticking with what made PS3 so friendly; stuff like that. I didn't have a mic for my PS3. I grabbed the one off my PC and plugged it in. It worked first time no questions asked. They even use the same plug they've used since PS1.

Really? I think it looks amazing!

DrizziTx 06-12-2013 11:21 PM

cool pics, interesting look.
Looking closely it looks like a slim PS2 with extra top and bottom sections.

I like Sony, Hope they win this round by a large margin, *** needs to go away and leave us alone.

DrizziTx 06-12-2013 11:22 PM

Oh tnx for the link ... meant to say that in previous post and since no edit ^^;

Moot point. The X1 allows 3.0 USB external storage drives. Pop on a 2-4 TB drive and you're set.

score 06-12-2013 11:46 PM

Not really a moot point. What you gonna do when your HD packs in? It's not user changeable in the XBone. Prepare to be doubly bent over for that one...

Wow, I think this thing looks sexy as all hell. I'm curious why you think it's ugly.
