Weekend Gamer: What are you playing?

The question is always the same: What are you playing this weekend?

I have been playing the original Mass Effect lately. Its funny going back to it now. When ME2 came out, I was quite upset that a lot of the RPG systems like the deep skill system and full blown inventory system were removed from the game. Playing through it this time, though, I've been cursing those things and wishing it had the more streamlined ME2 and ME3 systems. I still enjoy the story, though, so its all good. I should beat it this weekend. After that, though, I'm not sure.

Borderlands 2 - playing on TVH mode now that the level cap has been raised to 61, and I already had the Season pass prior to free update.

Bioshock Infinite... Just reached the 4th deck on the Hand of the Prophet and had to shut it off. It's killing me sitting at work right now, gotta figure I'm only a couple minutes of gameplay from some major storytelling. Finish it off this weekend then probably give 1999 mode a shot.

OH! And Yale and QU are in the NCAA D1 hockey finals, so I'll probably get into that as well.

Taxes 2012: The game: The movie

GraveMatter 04-12-2013 08:31 AM

Defiance on PS3 with some LEGO City Undercover on WiiU.

I thought the Song Remains the Same? ;)

Anyways I'll probably put in some Walking Dead, finally got into it and about to start Ep. 3. I have a hankering to go back to Mortal Kombat (2011) too.

Still sucked into Fire Emblem: Awakening . . . that is a definite.

Bioshock Infinite. Elizabeth just cut her hair (I think that's a fairly spoiler-free indicator of where I am). I loving the story, but I want to get this wrapped up before Injustice hits. It's supposed to be a rainy weekend, so I just might pull it off.

Bioshock Infinite.

Cant seem to get away from League of Legends. Other than that, probably no gaming for me. Maybe some fishing.. taxes.

Murder. Oh noes!

StarDrive Beta - I didn't realize it was real-time. I love 4x but the real-time bit scares me as I'm not sure I'll have time to react to things. Still watching tutorials though. This was a gift my brother on Steam. I really wish I could afford Bioshock Infinite.

She's sooo hot with her hair cut. And btw, if you think the story is good now, just wait.

;)

Just picked up Dishonored for 50% off via Steam, so that will likely occupy most of my gaming time this weekend. I had just enough time to install it and play through the first level last night. I'm digging the art style and the story is intriguing, but it really suffers from consolitis. The physics leave a lot to be desired... environment interaction feels very year 2000ish. Melee combat conveys no sense of mass, momentum. I feel like I'm just floating around the world. Just picking a few nits. Maybe I'm spoiled after playing through Far Cry 3, which I found fantastic.

Back to X-Com, with some old school Dawn of War thrown in for variety. Oh, and taxes.

It's a post-Bioshock-Infinite world, so anything I play has a gigantic hill to climb if it wants to make a good impression. In that light...

Probable:
--Digging into Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, which moved way up my backlog once I noticed the high value Amazon's trade-in company is inscrutably still offering for it.
--More progress in Super Mario 3D Land, the inaugural game I'm playing on my spankin' new 3DS XL.

Possible:
--Digging into Guacamelee, which is downloaded and waiting for me.

Doubtful:
--Digging into Bayonetta, which was next in line before being rudely usurped by Transformers.
